Man, I would kill* for a Late European-Only G1 subline. I would buy all of them. The designs and colors were wild, and so many of them never were available in any form over here in the States.
*Well, I wouldn't kill anyone. Not really. I would be willing to be mildly curt in an email if...
Honestly, that's exactly what I was thinking of, but I figured the chances of anyone else knowing or remembering it was pretty low. My son was at the perfect age for that when it came out, so we always enjoyed seeing it.
Ok, well the series is still available for free on the Roku channel, so I've switched to watching it there. Midway through Season 3, so now I'm feeling like I need to watch a bit more hurriedly in case it disappears from there.
Recently picked up a set of MC Toys Motobots with the original packaging. I had the train as a kid, but this was my first experience with the jeep and jet. Got some comparison pics with Gobots Leader One and Transformers Core Class Starscream.
I'm surprised at the wings unclipping from the...
I don't think that they do have to be. The original G1 ones were, so I think Platypus Prime (*puts on fedora "PERRY the Platypus Prime?!") was hoping that these wouldn't follow suite.
For all those wondering if anyone was going to make some third party shells:
Glad to see Nonnef is on it. I've bought several of his kits and always been happy with them. His pricing is always reasonable, though I have to admit that I can't imagine a full set of monster shells, even...
I bet we'll get a bigger version SOMEday (we nearly did in Combiner Wars), but I'll take a small Monstructor over no Monstructor any day. Especially since the original was also tiny, this one doesn't bother me being small.
I keep a small-scale display along with my standard scale one, so...
That's one I don't have. I wasn't really collecting back in that era, so the only Spychangers I have are an Optimus and a Scourge that I've picked up later.
I actually like the new head, but if you're more of a toy accuracy person, I can see wishing they hadn't changed it.
For Slog, I think the issue is more that there wasn't a good way to turn a horizontal quadraped into a vertical biped, especially when the face needed to be on the top so that...
Slog was the only one I had as a kid, and I loved him. Unfortunately, Slog seems to have gotten the short end of the remold stick, but I still loves this as much as a grown man can love a toy robot made out of tiny monsters.
Those are looking good! I like the bits of blue on Blackout, I don't think I had really seen that on earlier pics. Would like to see these two with new heads as Roadbuster and Whirl.
Huh! Yeah, I never got one of those. I like how whoever was designing these things made sure to make the robot designs called back to the character the car was made to look like. As long as you're stealing intellectual property, you may as well go whole-hog!
