This team doesn't typically just design molds to be "half one toy half another" and call it a day only one one half's deco. Most of the SS86 molds have had both animation and toy deco releases, they told us during a livestream that they have "multiple" alternate Straxus paint schemes they might do in the future for the comic Straxus figure, the minibots seem to be getting both toy and animation releases (with remolding even!). I have faith that the Skyquake mold is/was always planned to have a G1 repaint. We just haven't gotten one yet, frustratingly. They even engineered the docking feature and showed it off with a nonrelated character. Who knows, maybe he'll show up wherever capsule G2 Motormaster ends up in.

Reposting for context.

MW is the one I want, but King Atlas is the most striking.

I'll take one of each. (If they're not retooled away like I'd really prefer, I think black shoulderpads/intakes on MW Starscream would be better -- too Prowl otherwise.)

We ever get any MW Starscream colors on a regular Seeker mold?

Closest we got was this 2001 e-Hobby repaint of the G1 Seeker...

Now aside from primarily being black, this isn't very MW Starscream-y, and I wouldn't have even mentioned it if not for the accompanying fiction. According to the bio, the events of Machine Wars happened in the past and Starscream has regained his familiar body type, but has retained his MW black base.

It's notable for one of the few pieces of pre-BotCon 2013 lore outside of MW's package bios to actually mention MW.

One funny thing about MW Starscream is that TransTech Starscream, one of the few TransTech toys that we've seen physical prototypes of, was based off of MW Starscream. Presumably because MW Starscream was, at the time, the most recent release of the character at retail.

It's funny to think of MW Starscream of all iterations being the default reference point. I don't think it would have lasted even if TransTech had happened, as the G1 nostalgia revival would have come for us all eventually, but it's fun to think about none-the-less.

That looks surprisingly good in all those variations. The G1's colours will need to be brighter though. I wonder if the mold looks decent without the shoulder pads?

This custom on TFW2005 removes the shoulder pads/intakes (am I even using the right term lol). Looks good in robot mode (but they do still obscure the small missile drums, which I've always seen as key to a Predator Skyquake silhouette). Still, it's neat that he doesn't look incomplete. Even in altmode it looks decent (altmode accuracy concerns aside). Ironically it's even more reminiscent of at least the Legends class Skyquake.

...It is just occurring to me right now that if they'd just let this be Prime Skyquake (with Predator Skyquake just getting a heavy retool later on or just another mold they could squeeze about three uses out of anyway), altmode and cockpit chest and all, THIS might've been a nice base for the Machine Wars jets. Bit big, though.

Man, I would kill* for a Late European-Only G1 subline. I would buy all of them. The designs and colors were wild, and so many of them never were available in any form over here in the States.

*Well, I wouldn't kill anyone. Not really. I would be willing to be mildly curt in an email if it would help.

It's been killing me that the base molds for all the Predators are there, but there hasn't been a capsule for them yet. It seems like a perfect fit for the capsules Amazon has been doing in particular. Just do it already!

No, that's Mario Bros. 2. Monstructor is about a bounty hunter fighting space pirates and headcrabs on an alien world. (Spoiler: the hunter's a lady!)

No, that is Metroid. Monstructor is a great uncle, his nephews, niece, and a pilot, all flying around Cybertron looking for lost treasures. (Monstructor, Woo-hoo).

So when the price increases were announced, I decided the only new product I would commit to buying were the AotP Primes and Combaticons I didn't already have. I'd committed myself to finishing those, but everything else would be a very case by case basis. Prices being what they are, I have to be choosy.

Except if they roll out a Euro G1 or MW capsule. That's where I live. I'm toast if they do either.

Well then, I hope you're toast!

Just thinking about Nexus Prime, and I know I already made this comparison to the stock robot mode, but then I started thinking about what Nexus looked like in the moslty white and red Superion frame and how close it aligned to Gobots Courageous, and realized that I would definitely buy a Toyhax sticker set to complete the look. It wouldn't take much, some red for the boots and a few other bits to make the empty frame look more like Power Suits and it'd be a reasonable update. Bonus points if they work with Nonnef to add some "windshields" or whatever you want to call them to one arm and one leg.

It works better for that than it does as Nexus Prime.

I think so. And I know this won't be a popular opinion by any means, but I care MUCH more about Gobots Courageous than I do about Nexus Prime. I like the look of the toy just fine so far, but I just am not at all invested in the 13 Primes as characters/concepts.

Honestly, this is how I see ALL the framejob combiners.
