When the subpeonas drop: trump will show up. His lawyers, if no one else around him; know that disobeying will make things worse for him, look awful to both the population and the world, and cause immediate repercussions like being actually arrested and being incarcerated during the trial(s).
And Trump always listens to his lawyers.

If he fled to the UAE or Saudi Arabia, what's the likelihood they'd turn him over? According to Google, neither country has an extradition treaty with the US...

He won't flee the country because that would mean admitting he has a reason to flee. It's tantamount to admitting he made a mistake, which is the one thing he absolutely lacks the balls for. Staying and defying the courts lets him play up his martyr complex.

He's not missed an indictment yet. He's well aware of what he can push and what will push back, because he knows what will make things worse for him. Just like he knows to plead to the fifth when under oath instead of all his usual boastful bullshit.

Trumps an idiot, but that doesn't mean he doesn't know what he's doing. That's just how ******* screwed he is.

Also, Trump doesn't want to leave the US because all his stuff is here. Millions and millions of dollars worth of it, even.

Former President Donald Trump faced new charges Thursday in a case accusing him of illegally possessing classified documents, with prosecutors alleging that he asked a staffer to delete camera footage at his Florida estate in an effort to obstruct a federal investigation into the records.

The updated indictment from special counsel Jack Smith centers on surveillance footage at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, evidence that has long been vital to the case. Trump is alleged to have asked for the footage to be deleted after FBI and Justice Department investigators visited in June 2022 to collect classified documents he took with him after leaving the White House. The new indictment also charges him with illegally holding onto a document he’s alleged to have shown off to visitors in New Jersey.

Trump seems determined to cement his place in history as America's Crimingest President.

This one is more serious because there's no dream Trump friendly judge to prejudice things for him and the trial will be in DC, which HATES him. Good luck getting a fair trial. He's toast.

Neat. We'll add it to the pile of "still waiting for this shit to matter".
It'll matter once he's actually at trial for it.

Which will also mostly coincide with the general election. I'm honestly looking forward to the chaos on the republican side when they have to find and field "plan B", and everyone will see why it's trumps party. It'll be glorious.

So is he now barred from running?
To answer my own question, according to the Guardian's coverage:
Trump’s indictments will not disqualify him from running for office, nor will any conviction.
Also the assigned judge is an Obama appointee, Tanya S Chutkan, who's delivered some harsher than requested sentences to Jan 6 defendants.

Yup, he can still run, but I believe a few states have laws baring him from being put on the ballot due to the charges. The bulk of said states with said laws already weren't gonna vote for him, though, so it won't make much of a difference. Frankly I hope he looses his GA or NY case before the election. Be kinda hard to run an administration from a state prison and he can't pardon himself from those charges.

Jack smiths other case will determine if he's committed treason, and will affect his ability to run for office. Just need to wait for that one, and it'll probably drop at a hilariously inopportune time for trump.

It will also expose the republicans whom are willing to continue to shill for a literal traitor to the republic. It's going to be FUN! next year.
