lol. I think it was that much during Beast Machines and RID2000 as well.
I already have the Siege pack, which was the right mold for characters who only appeared on Cybertron as tetrajets. A clean deco would be nice, but I can live with it for characters who exist to cause corrosion and I have no interest in paying that much money for a mold downgrade.

Heard about that one before I even knew of the 4-pack, and I am hoping against hope that it's [1] the Earthrise mold and [2] not scalped to scrap when it comes out.

The one that was $4.97 in its original release 30 years ago.
Don't like the '86 mold and I don't need earth mode versions of the Rainmakers, I already have proper siege versions. Still want Sunstorm, but I hope the rumored Dreamwave mainline version is still happening at least.

I grew up in Canada, I don't think they were ever that cheap where I was.
Speculation based on it being four Voyagers. At current USD pricing that's around $180.
Right, but $180 (or $172) isn't $200, so where'd the $200 figure come from?
I presume people rounding up and/or assuming Hasbro's going to get cheeky with the price. Which... gestures to the hobby for the past couple of years isn't an unfounded assumption?
I think the question is entirely valid. I keep seeing $200 thrown out too, as if that's the actual price that's been reported somewhere. But retail price for four Voyagers right now is $172. When's the last time a Transformers multipack cost MORE than normal retail price for its contents?
In every case I can think of in recent memory, multipacks have been sold at a slight discount compared to if they'd been sold individually. See the SS86 Insecticons at $80 vs. $84 for three Deluxes, or the AotP 4-pack at $100 vs. $127 for three Deluxes and a Voyager. So for something like this, I'd be expecting something closer to maybe $150-$170, not $200.

This is basically it. Whether it's the rounded-up number or the more likely number, it's simply beyond me. If I had that much I'd probably go for NL BW2 Galvatron. But the color choices on these are very, very nice, just on a mold I'm not quite into yet. Those who like it and can afford the set (or can find a good way to split it with a friend) are in for a treat.

Its an animation error.
As weird as this is, the photos are actually of hand-painted samples, all from Thundercracker from the looks of it. You can see his blue poking out in the joints. So whether the actual production version will have white or orange guns is still up in the air.
