I'm tempted by the Star Convoy stuff, mainly the star. But I'm worried I ground down at least one of the screws on mine getting that chest window situation fixed.
That was a wild time. It was like seeing a friend do dumber and more cringe things to get his ex to call him back, and refusing to deescalate. "But babe! He's named Skullfckr!"
I'd blocked a lot of that out, so the BMOG thing had me thinking at first about Battle Master/Beast Weaponizer...
The 2000s, 1: Turn Around, Go Forward
East and West of the Transformers world hit pause after the dust of the Beast era settled, with a new series -- Transformers: Car Robots, which would become Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2001) -- becoming the turnaround space within which both Hasbro...
That does help. It also has the side effect of making the gray thighs stand out more, but at least the eye is guided along the continuous red form, from front to back.
From most angles, tbh, the gray thighs come across as a base for the ladder, so it looks passable to me.
Yeah, that's what I was planning too. I'm glad someone has that combo of "not 3D printing" and "useful parts I actually want instead of just gap filler", but that part does give me pause.
I can pass on the cannon as a while back (long before Achai came onto the scene) I bit the bullet and tried...
Yeah, I think the arms tuck into the cab.
Where do the side tanks go in robot mode? Might have helped if they were more vertical. Maybe folding in half for where they go in robot mode.
I don't know about that Galva cannon, although I like that the inset panels no longer raise like they did in the prototype (or maybe they CAN still but you opted to leave them). Looks better that way. Maybe if it were all the same color, interior included; the animation model does seem to...

Eventually Takara got back around to the "main" Beast Wars show and toyline, and came back to round it out with Beast Wars Metals. I think by now the beast toylines had run their course in Japan (the wiki notes a decline in popularity around BW Neo, possibly due to the...
The 1990s, 4: Big (and Lio and...) in Japan
US Transformers toylines have generally tended to have an interesting transition to becoming Japanese toylines. I don't think it was until fairly recently that they were truly simultaneous, let alone synchronized, and to this day the release schedules...
Could actually sing that to the melody of "What I've Done."
"I am Optimus Prime. The search was long, the journey hard. But now, the Autobots have triumphed against tragedy and protected our new friends. I stand with the boobies. And with all sentient beings, against the forces of darkness...

I've waited until here to talk about Machine Wars, to bridge Beast Wars to Beast Machines. This little capsule has always fascinated me, and its cobbled-together packaging is so reflective of its cobbled-together lineup. Like the later Beast Machines-era Dinobots, this really...
The 1990s, 3: Rise (and Fall) of the Beast (Era)
The brand's first real major reinvention took the stage in the mid-90s as G2 fizzled out (sadly at the peak of its engineering growth) and Kenner took over. Beast Wars was introduced as more or less its own thing, with packaging that looked wholly...
And they're both things I want, heh. No 3P company has really bothered with a cab Magnus for SS86, though (it seems workable, but mine's been in storage forever so I could be misremembering) so maybe that ship has sailed.
I mean I'll take them for existing at all. It's a good way to get all five ground vehicles (meanwhile, poor Rotorstorm's combining joke still haunts him) out in one fell swoop.
But I kinda want to hold out for slightly closer takes that don't combine; I don't think that any of the Stunticon...
