Oh I'm with you. I told myself I was passing on these guys and that I was happy with the PotP offerings but that Grimlock was so tempting I had to give him a try and it was all over. He was that good. And all of them live up to that.
They're just really solid chunky dino robots and that's all...
My theory is that the various brand teams have, since '07, been trying to replicate the "arm turns into a gun" look of the live action films, an idea that the WFC game and Prime both ran with.
Prime's attempt to take DotM's mechtech weapons and make them "match" the characters' arms was one of...
For The Fallen specifically I can see Bay and his writers going "ok so this Fallen guy's a Decepticon?"
"Well no. You see..."
"You said he was a badguy. All Transformers badguys are Decepticons."
"That's not actually the ca..."
"Decepticon!"
I don't remember if they specifically call The...
And then RotF made The Fallen "the first Decepticon" which Aligned later ran with in RiD '15.
Even TF One leaned into it despite making Megatronus more heroic by having D-16 fanboy over him and use his name and likeness for his new identity and faction.
So now Megatronus/The Fallen is...
Nothing about RotB feels like a dedicated Bumblebee sequel. He's in it, they make a vague reference to the Bumblebee movie, and Prime and Bumblebee's designs carry over but...
It's not like Bumblebee is the focus. We don't get a follow up on Charlie or Memo. It's a movie in continuity to...
I didn't want anyone to die over Beast Machines, I was just too young to really get what it was doing. I wanted to see more adventures with the Beasties cast and BM's major status quo upheaval and more philosophical storyline wasn't really clicking with pre-teen me.
I actually watched it again...
All of that is part of I would have liked Liege Maximo as The Fallen. Not only would it keep the narrative more straightforward by condensing the "evil" of the group into one poetic turncoat but you could easily write that "Liege Maximo" wasn't his name either. So "Liege Maximo," "The Fallen,"...
Yeah, I doubt NBC Universal's letting anyone else use "Battlestar."
Now if they wanna do a Collab and toss us some transforming Colonial Vipers and Cylon Raiders...
More or less what I was getting at. Liege Maximo and Alpha Trion took new names- or altered theirs- to drop the "Prime" association for one reason or another while Megatronus got Akhenaten'd.
