Would the Siege Spinister/Rotorstorm mould work? It's not a great match but some new colours and a new head can do wonders.
It's not as great a match as Chase from Cliffjumper or Heatwave from Bulkhead but... I donno. It's no more out there than Medix from Crankcase.
I went to one of those "early access" showings and the theatre was mostly full and people seemed into it. I figured "ok this is a good sign."
Turns out most people who were actually excited to see this thing probably went to those early showings 🫠
I think it's all part of the same story of conflicting visions and priorities. The show's writers wanted to continue their story, which is why the last episode ends on a cliffhanger.
But the powers that be said "nope you hit the limit for syndication and that's that."
The whole syndication...
Funny you mention Spider-Man TAS. That show also had to fight tooth and nail to tell serialized stories because the toy manufacturers (who pretty much ran Marvel at this point in history) and the network both believed it would be hard to get kids into a show if they started watching mid-story...
I know, it's the internet. Gotta be as nuts as possible 🤣
Thing is I only got into the internet fandom with RiD '01 because I heard a rumour Transformers were going back to vehicles and I wanted to find some information.
I missed out on this whole era of whacky Beast Wars speculation!
I don't...
I remember the rumours that Armada was going to be a sequel to G1, back when all we had was that clip of Optimus and Megatron's first fight on Earth. The thinking was that Megatron's Armada design was the result of Galvatron and Scorponok merging at some point after Rebirth.
I know some people...
I think that, in retrospect, the Beast Wars haters were proven to be quite foolish. And that's a huge testament to Beast Wars. History is judged by the end result, and Beast Machines bombed hard. Had it killed the brand then the narrative would be "the Beast Era killed things after a brief...
To be fair...
G1 got a cartoon.
G2 got a cartoon, even if it was a repackaging of the G1 show.
Beast Wars got a cartoon.
Machine Wars was a first, a Transformers toyline with no media whatsoever. In retrospect we see it was, at most, a trial run to see if vehicle-based Transformers could be...
I don't know how they would have done it, but if BW had just brought back the G1 characters from MW in the MW bodies then I'd finally get on side and call BW the greatest Transformers show of all time.
I think it's borderline irresponsible that Hasbro had a Transformers movie in theatres and the big Studio Series releases concurrent with it were for long-dead video game designs.
Look, SS Gamer Edition Ratchet and Sideswipe are cool, sure, but maybe they can wait so that the designs from the...
The 2000s were the high point for aesthetic bickering. The Gen Xers who grew up with the original show were very loud in their rejection of Beast Wars and then the UT, and finally the Bay films. It even manifested in Classics like you said, where if people pushed back against the reinventions on...
So McFarlane did a toy based on Todd's original design for Spawn. And sold it in a two-pack with a Todd McFarlane figure 😆
And then they repainted the Spawn blue because Todd's earliest sketches of Spawn were from high school... made with a blue pen.
