Mostly in combined form, but my new place has lower ceilings compared to my old place. Which means my CW Devastator and PotP Predaking have to be displayed as individual bots.
Granted this doesn't fix the issue with the limbs, but a friend of mine who has this set and is also backing Liokaiser at HL is just going to use the central Sky Lynx repaint as Deathsaurus' dog.
My headspace is still stuck in the Archer/T30 years where older character redoes were either some unrelated comic design or another figure with a new head and paint and that's your lot, take it or leave it nerd.
We've been living in a far more friendly to deep cuts and referential designs era...
Them doing G2 Sideswipe, Tigertrack, and two versions of Deep Cover off of the Siege Sideswipe mould convinced me that there wasn't an Earth mode version planned because why do those one-off selects versions on the Cybertronian version if there was a more accurate Earth mode version in the...
I think that's another reason I find the kvetching about newer figures getting the Generations makeover eye rolling.
I have Armada Megs, Optimus, and Starscream. I love those figures, but they are flawed.
And be it an Armada Starscream who was too small or an Armada Megatron who was just a G1...
I guess the question is do people want Rescue Bots who have robot modes that reflect the "kiddie" look of the original cartoon or do they want those designs "matured" a bit to fit in with the rest of Generations?
Chase got the latter and people mostly seemed to like that, so I get why they...
It looks sufficiently bright to me.
On one hand the sepia colouring and darker, copper-y aesthetics would make some sort of thematic sense but I think they were just going for accuracy to the last time these designs appeared in comics and some brand consistency.
Also yeah... retconning HoS...
That's as good a reason as any to explain why the Machine Wars Brain Trust (under appreciated geniuses ahead of their time that they were) just put the wrong figures on each card 🤣
Please. We don't need to be giving HasTak excuses for just releasing the same figure with a different name. At...
First, the post someone else made- the post I first quoted to start this discussion off, which you agreed with and expanded on- did say there was no point.
That was the original sentiment I was responding to.
Secondly... I'd argue in many ways they have made new figures "better."
Legacy...
I think HoS Starscream gives them a lot of leeway going forward. He's not based on anything real like Optimus, Bumblebee, or Megatron. He's just this vaguely steampunk plane that fits the vibe without being based on anything specifically from the real world.
That means that we could see some fun...
"Better" is subjective. What the newer figures lack in spring loaded gimmicks they make up for with better paint, increased likeness, and articulation.
Which you prefer is up to you, there is no right or wrong answer there. And there's nothing wrong with passing on a new figure if you have the...
