lol I took it a completely different way. Hasbro's trying to right their financial ship and I'd appreciate it if my hobby didn't die.
So like... yeah... I have no love for a billion dollar company but I also don't wanna see Hasbro die? I donno man.
Man... this is a rumour about an idea that may...
Some Bayverse villains through the Generations lens
"You were always the bravest of us all!"
"On Cybertron we were gods! Here, they call us machines!"
"No! Optimus!"
"You betrayed yourself."
"You have no soul!"
"That is why I have no fear!"
I do find it kind of heartening that the stuff we thought we'd lose forever when FP lost the licence has been picked up by Hasbro, and even occasionally worked into the retail lines. Whatever we can say about this brand team, they care.
And if they do go through with this, MTO individual items...
Yeah. This brand team has mentioned having lots of plans but not enough slots to release it all under, and they recently lost Buzzworthy as the "catch all random ideas" line.
So this seems like them trying to make up that lost ground.
Maybe his Prime-ness carries him, but Hasbro's shunted most big ticket Victory releases behind HasLab so they're clearly uncertain about Japanese characters at a certain price point moving at retail.
There's an argument to be made for and against it, and hell... I can't even decide if it's a sign of strength or weakness. On one hand it could be seen as a scaling back. On the other hand... it could be seen as opening an additional outlet and devoting more time and resources to it, which you...
MTO has upsides in so far as you don't have to worry about it hitting a certain level to fund.
And it should be, on the whole, cheaper. I'd imagine a MTO Commander costing as much as a retail Titan, factoring in the limited production run. Which isn't cheap, but it's also not HasLab expensive...
I think LU G1 Optimus' size makes him the perfect desk toy. And that's one of his strongest attributes.
I love ML Optimus, but it almost feels too pristine and prestige to take off the shelf. LU G1 Optimus, on the other hand, gets fiddled with all the time when I'm at my desk.
Point of order, Cybertron Megaplex specifically sold well enough for Hasbro to greenlight Titan Tidal Wave. There was genuine concern that Cybertron Metroplex wouldn't sell, as a non-G1 Titan. When he sold well enough to alleviate those fears, another non-G1 Titan was given the go-ahead...
Yeah... $200 is steep for a Rodimus that doesn't have many, if any, figures to go with.
At least Liokaiser will look baller next to Deaths Я Us and Dinoking.
Honestly? Kind of the appeal. The Mega toy is a pretty good representation of the character, who was a great evil overlord antagonist. So I don't feel like I need the Ultra for him specifically, but I'd like a Hork-Bajir figure.
It looks fun as just a giant monster transforming thing. I'll keep...
I was really into Animorphs when these toys were out but the human figures were so hideously monsterous I never wanted any.
I recently decided to pick up the Andalites because I figured going from one alien creature to another would help. No human mode to try and make work.
