  1. Star Trek General Discussion

It's hard to see in the show itself, especially given the lighting on those newer ships. The Fansets reproductions make it very clear, though.
  2. Star Trek General Discussion

I think my favorite, aesthetically, is the future-TNG/Prodigy S2. The ST: Picard era version, while similar, doesn't look as nice with the dark trapezoids... and then the one in use in the very last episode of Picard goes back to gold trapezoids, but still trimmed at the top... and a kind of...
  3. Star Trek: Prodigy, Season 2 not coming to Paramount+?

For most of its life, Paramount Plus Canada was a very different animal than its US counterpart. Netflix Canada retains the streaming rights to TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9, and ENT, even now. Paramount's biggest franchise and (arguably) its biggest draw was barely featured on its own streaming service...
  4. DC original animated movies

Yeah, if there was any DCAU villain who deserved a good ending, it was Victor. I recently re-watched all his episodes from Batman:TAS through to Beyond and, oh boy, did he get screwed over. His VA deserves a lot of credit, too. I'd have really liked to see him get to live his new life in the...
  5. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Yeah, that could be the case. Anya was a bit paranoid when it came to bunnies, and it came out in song during Buffy's musical.
  6. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

I did like that they tried to explain the random musical outbursts [pseudo] scientifically while not getting into a whole lot of technobabble. "Improbability Field" just about sums it up, even it if does kind of evoke a Hitchhiker's Guide feeling, which is a bit odd for Star Trek. I had fun...
  7. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Not sure the Klingons will ever recover from that particular dishonor.
  8. Wonder Woman 3 Back On With Gal Gadot And Patty Jenkins Returning!

Glad to see they're keeping Gal Gadot (now they just need to do the same with Aquaman and Shazam), however I hope Jenkins recognizes her strengths and weaknesses and recruits a good writer to help her with the script for part 3. 'cuz WW84, while enjoyable, was a real mess compared to the first...
  9. Ezra Miller is somehow The Flash in the DCEU

Pretty sure that was part of the charm of the original film. The silliness was a lot of the appeal; and it was only going to get sillier if they followed through the Mr Mind as the villain in part 3 once he finished whatever he was crawling around doing. If Shazam is all serious business all...
  10. Ezra Miller is somehow The Flash in the DCEU

Fury of the Gods wasn't a terrible film, though. It deserved better; but unfortunately its own continuity was collapsing around it at the time of its release. Still hope they decide to keep the actors for Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Shazam... I mean, they have their hands full just rebooting...
  11. DC original animated movies

I think I must've fallen asleep three different times trying to get through Warworld. Just terrible. Glad I decided to preview it before buying the 4K release. What a revolting waste that would've been. Hopefully DC stick to re-releasing their older animated movies that haven't yet seen 4K...
  12. Police Academy Graduation

    Same. Hilarious series. Congrats, Rhinox.
  13. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Didn't notice it 'til my second time going through the animated SNW intro, but it featured a return of the giant smiling space Koala from the LD episode where a character ascended to pure energy.
  14. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

I'll echo what a few here and said that, despite my previous naysaying about his guest appearance on the S1 finale, this version of Kirk is really starting to grow on me. He's a bit of a blend of Pine's and Shatner's Kirks, but also with a touch of Anson Mount's Pike tossed in.
  15. Star Trek: The Original Series and The Next Generation

Well... all we really saw was Lore speak to it through the Enterprise's computer. We don't know exactly how he may have programmed it prior... he's as fast as Data and had previously devised a method of communication with the CE, so he could've written up a translation program for the...
  16. Star Trek: The Original Series and The Next Generation

Gene was also the man who wrote lyrics (that were never recorded and that he never intended to use) for the TOS theme so that he could get himself a co-writers credit and collect royalties on it. For a man with a Utopian vision, he sure was obsessed with cash.
  17. Star Trek: The Original Series and The Next Generation

Except that Lore specifically spoke to it over an open channel when he drew it to the Enterprise, told it he would be masquerading as Data, and detailed his plan. Presumably he'd figured out how to communicate with it prior, and made use of some kind of translation algorithm he developed himself.
  18. Star Trek: The Original Series and The Next Generation

Destroying the entity isn't justice, though. At least not the type of justice the Federation believes in, judging by the fact they don't execute their own criminals or hostile alien prisoners, either.
  19. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

I really, really feel bad for T'Prill's husband. Good god, what a piece of work.
  20. Star Trek: The Original Series and The Next Generation

Trek toys have always been hot garbage. Higher quality models and/or prop replicas, on the other hand, can be pretty cool. The upcoming TOMY die-cast Enterprise, the Wand Company TOS phaser and (Bluetooth "headset") communicator, Fanset delta badges, etc.
