Transformers Legacy toyline

I'm tempted by Nova. Never had any real interest in him originally, but with a whole assortment of Primes incoming, I'm more inclined to give him a spot on the shelf.

So we'll now have the 13, Nova, Sentinel, Optimus, and Rodimus. That's everyone who has toys from the G1 lineage of Primes, right?
I'm rather going for a pre-mold for a new, more accurate depiction of this character myself (that and I doubt this mold will be coming to Japan any time soon).

You could get away with a Leader sized Marvel Comics style Thunderwing based just on his shell I admit. It's mostly the dream of keeping his toy inner-robot too that makes me want to push it to Commander.

it's about the only case I can imagine Hasbro actually replicating the Pretender gimmick in a new toy. He's a large enough and important enough character and his shell was a full Transformer of its own.
...and then, we can get the Japanese remold...

I think the WFC Leader gimmick could've worked quite well for Thunderwing. Have something akin to the Generations robot mode as a base, with extra bits to turn him into the Stormbringer ultra whatever mode (and change up the altmode too). Throw a Titan Master-ish inner robot in there maybe if you MUST have the multilayered Pretender bit, idk.

Probably wouldn't be HUGE huge, but eh. Just looking at Magnus and Shockwave it definitely seems doable at that price point. If he can hit Magnus' level of chonk it'd be fine.

I love Legacy Nova Prime. I was a fan of Nova Prime's design from the moment I saw him back in 2007. Finally getting a toy of his design was something else.
So glad he's getting a second run.

We still need a Zeta Prime. And I wouldn't mind a new Sentinel Prime; the last one is almost a decade old at this point.
Evan's talked about a Zeta from the SS GE Ironhide/Ratchet mould. I'd be down.

There were also rumours that they may repaint Siege Astrotrain as Sentinel with a new head. I'd like that. I can use the coal tender as a trailer 😁

I'd be down for that.

I've also got TF:One Studio Series Sentinel Prime on preorder to fill in as Nominus Prime in my collection.

Yep, same.
Plus I can keep the Prime Changers TFO Sentinel to represent that version of the character on the Sentinel shelf. It's a great little figure that has no right being as good as it is so I'm happy my collector OCD can work in a way to have both on display 🤣

POTP would have been a good time for a leader class Thunderwing given it's pretender theme but that toyline did everything backwards.
He also was one of the candidates on the POTP fan poll.

The Leader class gimmick of POTP was smaller bots upgrading to super robot modes, which in theory Thunderwing could have pulled off with his inner robot being the small bot and his Mega Pretender shell being the super robot mode.

It's still hilarious to me that they did Powermaster Optimus the year before they rolled out a Leader gimmick perfect for him.

They admitted that that was a mistake in hindsight, as they decided to do PM Prime for the 1986-1988 themed TR before they decided on what the POTP Leader class gimmick would be. In retrospect, had they had the foresight, they would have saved PM Prime for POTP instead.

With a bit of remolding, the Star Convoy version of the toy could have been a really good PM Prime.

Hopefully once they get through the combiner torsos, we can get a good Commander Class Powermaster Prime. That's one of the few "big wants" that I have left.

My fear is that they'll decide that MP Ginrai means PMOP is "done" and not come back to him for a while.
I dunno, MP (and now MPG) is purely Takara's thing. Hasbro hasn't historically seemed to feel that what Takara does with MP has much of an effect on Hasbro's plans.

I hope they revisit PMOP & God Grini sooner as a mainline figure and do it right this time

My fear is it'll leapfrog Commander class and be a Titan.

If they did PMOP as a titan class, he would more likely be God Grini or rather Optimus prime with Apex armour

If they were to do God Grini again, I would hope God Bomber is weaponizer, my only problem with the TR verison is how the wings attach, using clips and I fear that they might break when attaching or removing that part

If they did just PMOP, he'd probably have to be a Commander, just like Armada Prime. If they wanted to do Godbomber too, definitely Haslab. (Hey, they could throw in the prototype Roller head as a stretch goal.) Though, between Omega Prime and Optimus Prime IN SPACE Victory Saber, making the third Haslab Autobot another leader would feel kinda repetitive.

Honestly, if they did use the God Bomber / Apex Armor to bump him up to the $150 Titan Class (similar to the AotP Star Optimus), I wouldn't complain. I have no nostalgia for God Bomber, but I wouldn't turn down the chance to add even more upgrades onto PMOP.

Naturally we'll end up with Commander class Animated Powermaster Optimus Prime which will consist of a voyager class sized: cab to robot mode Animated Optimus Prime figure with a grappling hook, axe and bola accessories. And also a trailer that transforms to power suit/super mode, all complete with the Magnus Hammer, a matrix and a small figure which is the Mini-con: Hi-Q.

Edit: needed editing, me and my meds.....

Animated is my #2 favorite right behind G1, so I'd buy it.
