Transformers News, Games and Comics!
All the way back in June, rumors were going around that Hasbro and the folks at Skybound Entertainment were looking to break the latter's recent smash-hit Energon Universe out of the funny books and into the wide-reaching realm of adult animation. Well today, as Deadline reports, those rumors have a bit of meat to them, after all. The word is that they're soon going to be trying to shop around for someone interested in making an adult-oriented animated series out of the Robert Kirkman-helmed new take that combines the worlds of Transformers, G.I. Joe, and Skybound's own secret spice, Void Rivals. Joe Henderson, a producer and writer known for his work on Lucifer, Almost Human, and White Collar, is attached to the project as writer and showrunner. The goal is to make a series that's in line with another adult-oriented comic-to-cartoon adaptation that's proven successful, Kirkman's own Invincible. With any luck, maybe that will mean we'll get some quality memes out of this one... So, what do you think? Does this idea have you jazzed, or are you more worried about where it's going? Either way, tell us in the comments below, or just head on over to the good ol' "Energon Universe - ongoing Transformers and G.I. Joe comics from Skybound" thread in our forums, and share your hopes, dreams, concerns, and fears with other fans, just like yourself! Sorry, this one's coming in a little late. Busy day/night yesterday. But in case you hadn't heard, the 12th episode of Transformers: Cyberworld, "Oh Scrap!", is now up and available for your viewing enjoyment! And it's a doozy, too, answering some questions people have had since this whole thing began -- or at least shedding some light on some of them. But don't take my word for it, see for yourself. Don't let the runtime deter you. It's still just five minutes, only they've added episodes 3, 5, and 7 on the back end for Primus only knows what reason. Oh, let's not kid ourselves. I don't even think he knows what they're thinking with these uploads. Regardless, what do you think? Does it feel like we're finally getting somewhere? Did anything play out different from what you expected? Tell us in the comments below, or sound off in the "Transformers: Cyberworld, Danger Stranger" thread in our forums! Hey, kids! It's time for another new episode of Transformers: Cyberworld! Episode 11, "Game-a-Tron," sees our heroes enact the timeless strategy of divide-and-conquer as they seek to accumulate more Energon and raise their levels faster than the routine spawns allow. But wait, isn't there a rule about never splitting the party? Eh, I'm sure it'll be fine. And hey, for those who thought and have been disappointed that a certain jawsome Decepticon hasn't shown as much distinct personality as prior iterations... And as always, if you missed the last episode, then you can catch it... after this week's episode. Because that makes sense. Why not just start with the last episode first, then put the new one at the end? Ugh, this is why I don't have a career as a YouTuber, nothing makes sense. Anyway, what did you think? Did you expect this outcome? Any guesses as to who the newcomer is? Is Bumblebee destined to light our darkest hour, 'til all are one? And how the heck did Elita-1 "roll out" when she turns into a dad-blamed speedboat? Tell us in the comments below, or sound off in the "Transformers: Cyberworld, Triple Your Playsure" thread in our forums! Allspark Forums Discord Server Twitter/X Facebook Page Bluesky Instagram
It's been an agonizing... *checks watch* ...16 days since the last episode of Transformers: Cyberworld, but if they're going to keep on keeping in spirit with the spooky season, then I'd say it was worth the wait. In the tenth episode, titled "A Bug's Lie," Bumblebee breaks off from the rest of Team Prime when they run across a rogue Chop Shop, who is promising fabulous secret powers in a very Gollum-esque way. Will Bumblebee succumb to his trap and we'll have to replace him with another character for the remaining 26 episodes? Watch and find out! Plus, if you missed the last episode (or the absolutely necessary abridged recap) and to you, space is warped and time is bendable, then it's positioned right after the newest one here, because that's how it be, Bee. What do you think? Did Chop Shop set a suitably-creepy October tone? Did Bumblebee show us, show us all? Are you all caught up? Good, because as a part of the Transformers Day celebrations, we've been blessed with a new episode of Transformers: Cyberworld! And it's a doozy. In "Storm the Desert," our heroes are ready to take on the Ensconced Emperor of the Dusty Desert Dunes himself, Scorponok! Optimus has a posse, a look at Scorponok's tech specs, and some keen gear they picked up along the way. That shuttle off of Cyberworld is as good as theirs... right? Well, there's 27 more episodes left of this, so what do you think? Oof. Double L's for Big Bot, and back-to-back at that. But hey, there are toys to sell, so what can you do? Besides maybe get new alt modes and weapons, available now in finer toy stores everywhere, that is? What do you think? Did Optimus make a Prime call, or should they have held on a little longer there? It's been a long road for Cyberworld, and there's been a lot to keep track of. And as we stand at eight episodes in at five minutes each... well, there are only so many hours in a day, and so many days in a week. It's understandable why someone would have trouble keeping up with the last 20 minutes the show has provided us with so far. Fortunately, Hasbro understands. That's presumably why this week, they've uploaded a recap episode that will help get you up to speed on everything that's happened in the last 1,200 seconds that have aired since four weeks ago. Actually, "recap" miiight be a little bit of a strong word. Really, they've just made the most of their ten minutes by truncating the five minute episodes down even further into about two and a half minutes, so no replay of the previous episode taking up the last half here. Because that would just be silly. Oh, and in case you're wondering? Yes, there was a previous recap for the first four episodes as well, which you can find here. So, which format better fits your schedule? Four five minute episodes spaced across four weeks, or one ten minute episode every fifth week? And if it's the latter, are you even still reading this, or have you already moved on? As we eagerly await the surely inevitable 36 minute supercut that trims every episode down to a minute or less, tell us what you think of this way of presenting episodes in the comments below, or in the "Transformers: Cyberworld, Chops R Us" thread in our forums. It's time to play the game! No, not that one... or that one... or that other one. No, this is an all-new game! Picking up from last time, Big Grim has joined our heroes on their effort to get the heck out of here... wherever "here" is. However, they run into Megatron, and he's not nearly as nice this time as he was when he ran into Bumblebee. See for yourself in the latest episode of Transformers: Cyberworld, "What Goes Up": What's that all about, then? And hey, new character debut, too! As always, you have thoughts, and we have ears. Well, eyes. Look, just say something about how your favorite team won (or didn't) in the comments below, or in the "Transformers: Cyberworld, Chops R Us" thread in our forums, and someone will be sure to see it. Unless you're reading this like, a year from now. Or maybe even a week. I dunno, I just work here. Note: No hedgehogs were harmed in the making of this headline. That's right. Snarl knows what you've been doing when you think no one else is around, no one is looking... In Episode 7 of Transformers: Cyberworld, "Hunter vs. Hunted," the Dinobots are back, and Optimus Prime issues a challenge to Big Grim. But is he going to be the hunter, or the hunted? Spoiler: Yes. What does that even mean? Well, you'll just have to watch to find out! So, what do you think? Does it just tick you off that this entire series is about being stuck in a video game (or something like that, at any rate), yet there's no actual video game in which to recreate some of the matches we've seen in the show thus far? Well, you're not alone! You won't get help, but you can vent about that, or gush over what you liked about this episode in the comments below, or in the "Transformers: Cyberworld, Optimus rollin', Grim hatin'" thread in our forums! That's sort of like help! ...right? Allspark Forums Discord Server Twitter/X Facebook Page Bluesky Instagram
Looks like Megatron isn't the only one with his own city around here! In the fifth episode of Transformers: Cyberworld, "Screamer City Arena",our gang of heroes (and Mirage) are now infiltrating Starscream's stronghold. Can you believe it? Who would put this guy in charge of a city? Well, he would, for starters. And he handles it pretty much exactly as you think he would. But don't take my word for it, the episode is up, hot 'n ready, so check it out! As usual, despite the stupidly bloated runtime for YouTube, it'll only take you about five minutes to watch: Y'know, the YouTube title reads "Bot Battle Royale," but I think they're about 95 bots short. I mean, I get that this is probably operating on a shoestring budget (and doing a fabulous job with it, I might add -- better than some bigger budget productions, in this writer's humble opinion), but come on! Don't promise what you can't deliver! But enough about what I think, we want to know what you think! And you can tell us in the comments below, or by heading on over to the "Transformers: Cyberworld, Starscream City" thread in our forums! It's Satur-- wait, no it's not. Yeah, a little late with this one. Sorry about that. Turns out it wouldn't mean much even if it was, though, since it's been two whole weeks since the last new episode of Transformers: Cyberworld dropped. But that's why it's a good thing I'm here making these posts: Since I'm checking, you don't have to! And this week, there was a new episode! In Episode 5, "Smoke & Mirrors," the gang heads into Cyber City -- no, not my local comic book shop, but Megatron's base of operations in Cyberworld -- and this 'Bee finally gets his wings! But is this surprise Crate Drop more than meets the eye? Watch, and find out! Oh, and not to give it away, but one of my previous grievances with the show has been addressed here! It's time for another new episode of Transformers: Cyberworld, featuring two new characters! Because they've got toys to sell, people! This time out, it's "Elita-1's High Speed Jungle Race" ("River Race Ruckus", officially), but unfortunately for her... well, it's only five minutes (plus another five for last week's episode). Just go ahead and watch: So, uh, not to be nitpicky, but has anyone else noticed that Sky-Byte is 100% shark, 0% car here? Come on, people! I thought this was supposed to advertise toys! If he doesn't have wheels in the cartoon, then what are we even buying? Some sort of shark-fantasy? Maybe he gets wheels as some sort of loot drop later. Also: Shark Week ended last week. Come on, Hasbro! I know you and Discovery aren't as chummy as you used to be, but this was a perfect lay-up, and you fumbled. Tsk. Anyway, despite all this fun: Good episode, yeah? If you think so -- or not -- you can leave your thoughts in the comments below, or just mosey on over to the "Transformers: Cyberworld, Elita-1, the Crime SOLVING Boat!" thread I shamelessly stole part of the headline for this post from, and spill your shark guts there! A new episode of Transformers: Cyberworld has debuted on the Transformers Official channel on YouTube! It's Round 2 for Optimus Prime and Grimlock, but this time, Optimus has backup in the form of Bumblebee. Unfortunately for them, Grimlock has also brought along a more diminutive friend in the Dinobot, Snarl! It's two on two for the glory of getting a level-up from the newest drop as the fate of the Cyberworld... uh, has probably yet to be determined. But hey, protoform steps! Give the ep a gander here. And if you somehow happened to miss it from the previous two times it's been uploaded, the second episode is stitched onto the end of this new one, for some reason (of course, if that's the case, you probably missed the first episode, too, so maybe go back and watch those first. They're only about five minutes apiece): Once you're done, you can discuss the latest developments in the comments below, or in the "Transformers: Cyberworld, Bumblebee Gets Yamcha'd" thread. Hey, CoffeeHorse got to talk about Jaws, so I called dibs on Back to the Future. And hey, I can talk about Back to the Future for a while, but I'll keep it brief. On July 3rd, 1985, the movie hit theaters that was nothing short of generational, and generation-spanning. It was a movie that those growing up in the '80s could relate to through its main character, as well as their parents who'd grown up some 30 years earlier by way of the setting for the majority of the film. Nothing quite like it had ever been made before, and who knows, may never be made again -- at least, if its creators have any say in it. But on the bright side, we got a musical! Of course, we also got two sequels, which help round out the story. For real, while people argue over which of the three is the best, the truth is that you're missing out if you're only watching one of the three. And while we may never get a proper Back to the Future Part IV, there's been no shortage of supplemental material. A two-season animated series, a video game, and even comic books co-written by the film's co-writer, Bob Gale, which help further flesh out the world we see in the movies. Those came from IDW, who also held the Transformers license at the time, meaning that when Hasbro created a Collaborative figure, well... Yeah, we got a figure with actual lore, baby! (Actually, Ghostbusters got that, too. Sweet.) Also worth noting is how at the time, there was virtually no Back to the Future merchandise. But now? You're spoiled for choice at places like our sponsor, Big Bad Toy Store. 1985 was great, sure, but the future has its perks as well. Oh, and one other thing... June 20, 1975, JAWS hit theaters and made a generation of moviegoers afraid to get their feet wet. 50 years later, it's June 20, 2025 and JAWS is still one of the greatest films ever made. Yes, we're getting old. General movie news isn't normally a core part of this site's fare, but it was morally obligatory to say something on this day. I could go on about how this film is nearly perfect, how every single scene and nearly every line of dialog advances the film along, either in terms of plot or characterization, without a speck of waste. But at this point pretty much everything that can be said has been said. There are whole essays, books, and documentaries devoted to this masterpiece. So for me, the best way to appreciate this movie is simply to watch it again and bask in the timeless brilliance. You can also check out a variety of JAWS merchandise at BigBadToyStore. Like NECA's surprise homage to the old Ideal game. The original. Credit: ThirdShiftVintage I want that NECA set. It's hilarious that they made it. In the meantime though, I'm just going to break out my 35th Anniversary DVD and watch this masterpiece again.
It's been a hot minute since we last heard from fan-favorite voice actor Garry Chalk, who in these circles is best known for his portrayal of Optimus Primal in Beast Wars and Beast Machines and then Optimus Prime throughout the entire Unicron Trilogy. Back at Christmastime, the latest word was that he was dealing with Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Now, after going through 12 successful treatments of chemotherapy, Mr. Chalk has a word of thanks to share with you, his fans: His next PET scan is set for July. If all goes well, then that will officially put him into remission. It's time once again to dock like wild, as the newest episode of Transformers: Wild King has landed on YouTube! And if you loved those episodes of Beast Wars where Optimus Primal rode atop Rhinox like they were Donkey Kong and Rambi, well then, maybe this episode has a little something for you. Or maybe not. In any case, here's the Japanese version, which actually came out 12 days ago: Seems that one of the new characters has a verbal tic that took False Prime, Sabrblade, and the TFWiki crew a bit of time to fully understand. But they got it done, and here are the fruits of their labor! So, how about those new guys, eh?
