I like G1 Galvatron.

I just wish they would have made it clear if he was still G1 Megatron in a new body. Galvatron kept talking about Megatron in the third person in the Animated Movie which made us all question whether he was still Megatron. Also, showing his statue in the Decepticon mausoleum muddied the waters even further causing more confusion.

The name change has always thrown me off.

The Generation 2 upgrade was clear:

Techinally, Megatron is dead in the movie and he knows that he is now Galvatron, thus the line "I'll crush you, just as Megatron crushed prime!" Of course the Autobots only presume Megatron is dead as Magnus delievers the line of " Then you'll die trying just like Megatron!"

G1 Galvatron seemed a lot more powerful early on:


Did he just destroy an entire planet?

G1 Optimus Prime seemed untouchable after he was first built:


If G1 Megatron’s fusion cannon bounced off Prime, certainly that pee-shooter in the animated movie should not have been able to do anything to Prime.

The movie was made to be intentionally more violent and lethal than the TV series was, since it was always planned for Optimus to be killed off no matter what. Hasbro wanted Optimus to die.

I had never seen the first 2 before. That last picture I probably haven't seen since it originally came out oh so many years ago. My friend had that comic.

I liked the Transformers Energon cartoon. It was very G1-like in terms of the cast of characters (eg. having both Optimus Prime and Rodimus Prime working together). The stakes couldn’t have been any higher. It was almost like what the 1986 Transformers The Animated Movie could have been like if they did not kill off Optimus Prime and used their most powerful weapon, Omega Supreme, against Unicron. I like how Optimus Prime and Omega Supreme teamed up to defeat Unicron:


It just felt epic in scale and scope. And I heard the Energon toys were awesome, especially Energon Omega Supreme.

I have to admit this was an epic and inspiring scene:


One of the greatest moments in cinema history.

It definitely gave me chills.
