I know right, we're finally almost at the point where all those maga chuds start going "what else did he lie to me about?" and he's bringing up his OTHER major lie. I don't know if it's the dementia, or trump and his handlers are just that ******* stupid.

Although, given how republicans act in general, it honestly seems like they are just that ******* stupid.
I promise MAGA aren't going to find proof that Russia interfered.

The average maga cultist can't find their own ass with both hands and a CIA sensor suite. Of course they won't find evidence of anything: they don't know what to look for or where to look for it, a side effect of living in their information silo.

And it doesn't matter.

Once they have the epiphany that he LIED to them about the epstein files; not a campaign promise, not even his usual moved goalposts, outright lie: they will do the same thing every person who realizes the lie does: they question their relationship. That's the point.

Not all of them will do it, but enough of them. They won't suddenly open their eyes and vote democrat: they probably just won't vote. Or if they do, they vote for musks america party. They collapse trumps support internally. Because trump made a grievance foundational to his bases ideology, and then refused to follow up because he knew it would hurt him. He did it to himself.

Now it doesn't matter what trump does to the epstein file: it's bad news for him all the way down.

I think you're really talking about Republican voters rather than MAGA?

MAGA is not in the process of realizing he lied to them. They are in the process of realizing that Comey, Obama, and Biden made up the Epstein files and Trump didn't find out until he was President and got access to them.

No, not yet. But they are getting there. The magaists are the ones driving the epstein fury right now though. It's what they want, they're literally demanding it of the guy they've never asked for anything from. They're the ones that won't let it go.

And eventually... they'll get it. Between democrat efforts to get it out there, and the fact that even right wing propaganda talking heads are demanding it, trump refusing to release it is just making them angrier and less likely to drop it and move on.

So no matter what happens: it's bad for trump. He releases redacted and spliced information? His base screams that he broke his promise. He actually releases the full, unredacted epstein files? His base screams at him for lying. He promised them that it was full of nothing but democrat deep staters. That it would destroy the left. But it's full of a mixed bag of rich assholes.

No matter what: it's bad for trump. And not just because he's been friends with epstein since the 80's.

Well, I think it is possible he will pull this off, but as I sit here and think about it I DO see one problem that might be pretty hard. He is trying to tell conspiracy-minded people that they have been tricked into believing a hoax. That's not a one-man job.

And keep in mind: the people who USUALLY support his conspiracies (the biden crime family, the stolen election, benghazi, et al.) are working against him. They're demanding he release the files.

Sure he's still got social media: but his cult isn't taking him at his word on this.

Just like he wants to change all the bases that were named after Confederates back (though I think the only one of those that's going through is the one that found someone else with the same last name as the treasonous piece of jive it used to be named after).

It's just such an amazing thing to have a stodgy old codger in the White House. "I just don't agree with the decision that Washington made for themselves for their own reasons and I'll be a lot more comfortable if they just go back to what I am used to"

He's going to lead it up to the only way they'll get the new stadium in DC, that he's totally going to take over managing just like he'll do in New York, is if they change the name back.

Ironbite-cause he thinks he's the God Emperor of Mankind after all.
