This makes me wonder though... if that did get popped and put out there, that basically kills the entire credit industry. What could they even replace SSN with at that point? Not to mention what it would do to tax-filing....

the credit industry won't die. they don't care, they'll still assign arbitrary scores to people so its easier to separate the haves and the have nots. Even if there are issues like this, it doesn't matter to them. money is the only thing that matters.
