All the liquid tanks for Space Shuttle were destroyed. A couple other companies have reusable rockets NOW, but nothing the size of SuperHeavy. It would have been fantastic if it had succeeded on first attempt, but what they are trying to do is a big deal.

I think Ironbite is right. Trump is the primary audience for his own ego stroking. There is some value in bringing Elon to bear, getting a ring kiss, but he's got that. I don't think he is going to want him around. He got a good look at how mercurial Elon is and isn't going to want him to have access.
