Stephen Colbert mentioned a funny point, but I didn't see him hammer it home exactly. Musk and Donald Trump are having a catty social media fight when they actually both have real missiles.

Well, the Falcon rockets DO work. Starship, not so much. Much like Tesla, the pre mask off Musk stuff works much better than post mask off stuff. Wonder how much a worsening ketamine addiction is messing with his decision making.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

I wonder how much of it is just musky thinking he's smarter than he actually is, and ******* with the work of actual engineers for the sake of his own ego.

Yup. The original Model S would have come out earlier and likely been cheaper if it hadn't been for some of the things he INSISTED on being there, like the retractable door handles. The difference is he now is he has just outright stopped listening to anyone who tells him something is a bad idea. He's drunk to much of his own kool-aid.

I imagine anyone who would dare tell him anything he didn't want to hear was fired outright some time ago, and is now working for one of the other EV startups. As such, the company is utterly unsalvageable even if they could get rid of him. You can't reverse a brain drain.

The man is a mess, but I am not counting Starship/SuperHeavy out yet. They have launched 9 times and 4 of them were destroyed. All the Saturn Vs were destroyed. All the liquid tanks for Space Shuttle were destroyed. A couple other companies have reusable rockets NOW, but nothing the size of SuperHeavy. It would have been fantastic if it had succeeded on first attempt, but what they are trying to do is a big deal.
