Well, it has about 250 GB of internal storage. So, a lot more than the original Switch's 32 GB.

But, Switch 2 games are also a lot larger than Switch 1 games. AND we're slowly moving towards everything being digital with Game Key Cards.

So, I'd probably grab a SD card, just for the extra space.

You could wait, because there's a chance they could come out with larger or cheaper sizes of SD cards in coming years, or you could just get one now.

It's not AS much of a necessity as during the Switch 1's life. It kind of depends on how many games you plan on getting. Without a SD card, the Switch 2 can store about 8 big games on it, on average. Depending on just how big they are. And if you're going all-digital, or if you get a lot of games physically.

Well first of all, thanks for all the info! I just ordered a regular Switch 2 from Best Buy as I had $400 in rewards points that I needed to use with them. I also got a 256gb Switch 2 SD Express card and a physical copy of Mario Kart World as they had it for $68 today brand new. It might go cheaper on Black Friday but why wait to save $20 and risk paying $12 more? I had already got a loose copy of Pokemon ZA for the Switch 2 for the kids to play on it, and I pre-ordered the Zelda: OoT remake this morning, so that will be three Switch 2 games for them to have. Also, they have a massive collection of Switch 1 games that are compatible with the Switch 2. Now to get some pro controllers for the Switch 2!

I just always assume I'm going to need extra storage. Games keep getting bigger and bigger. Console storage...also gets bigger, but not nearly at the same rate.

I just got some nice licensed third party switch 2 controllers off of Amazon. They have them on sale today for $28, so I got a Glowing one and a Mario Kart one. I am tempted to get the Donkey Kong Country one they have on sale too, but I am just going to wait and see what deals pop up as I am still hoping to find that Zelda OoT pro controller before Christmas.

If you bought The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt for Switch, you get a free upgrade to Remastered on Switch 2. Don't be a buffoon like I was with Metal Gear Solid Master Collection 2.
(Bring on Doom and Arkham Knight!)

I've had it for Switch for a while. I haven't played it since I got it though. I played it for maybe an hour and just couldn't get into it.
But I heard about the free upgrade yesterday. Maybe at some point I'll try again.

Doom is a solid maybe, but I wouldn't hold my breath on Arkham Knight.

RE4 remake runs well enough on Switch 2 and has gyro control issues. What's funny is seven years ago the original was released for Switch without gyro controls despite expectations for them given the Wii version had pointer controls and is still considered as offering the best gameplay experience. Revelations 1 and 2 on Switch had gyro, RE5 and 6 featured them but RE4 OG was never patched.

Nice! I loved playing this on the Gamecube back in the day. I picked this up on PS5 recently, but haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

I ordered the Doinksoft collection for the Switch yesterday to give my oldest for her Birthday. It has three games in it, but the one I wanted to play was a game called Gato Roboto. It's a black and white MetroidVainia.

The other two games I haven't checked out yet, but for $24 for the set shipped, I couldn't pass that up. I also got her Kitaria Fables for the Switch. If you notice the pattern, she wanted some cat games for her birthday.

Oh! I played this on stream once, years ago...

...at least, I *thought* I did. Looks like I don't have a video record of it on YouTube. =(

What I played of it was fun, though!
