Yeah, if there's one mode that the Siege mold got the most right in terms of looks, it was the look of the robot mode. I'd even argue that the shuttle mode was pretty reminiscent of both the original 1985 toy and the cartoon model in terms of its overall shape (it was just that greeble toward the back of the shuttle that put off most people; had that area been smooth instead of skeletal-looking, I doubt most would have felt so ill about it). The steam engine was the mode that suffered the most with the Siege figure, having wonky proportions that resulted in a bizarre wheelbase that made it look impossible to run on any real-world rail gauge (though, I did appreciate the inclusion of the tender for real-world mechanical accuracy to how steam tender engines need a tender in order to even function). It's clear that with this figure they put the most effort in improving the steam engine's design and it does look all the better, but now the shuttle mode is more cylindrical instead of Astrotrain's classic boxy shuttle design (for better or worse depending on one's opinion about that), while the robot mode is now the messiest mode of the three, looking spindly in most places while only maintaining Astrotrain's traditional chunkiness in just the lower legs.
