Or they could simply do what Galvatron did, stick a chain on it and call it a day!

Considering my chest lacks a compartment, I would actually very much like a way to put this on a chain like Galvatron did.

Just head over to Tosche Station. I hear they have all the power converters you'd ever need.

Or they did, anyway. That was apparently a long time ago...

It's also pretty far, far away.

They just removed the greebling from (Dramatic Capture/Siege Shockwave) and didn't even bother to enlarge the mold...

Still hoping for better pictures to talk myself into trying this Astrotrain, if only for the more cohesive altmodes (I like a lot about the WFC mold but it's lousy with stegeing and the back half of that shuttle is rough as heck). This at least has the chest panels the correct way. But this is... not quite there yet. Currently, this is making me want to track down a Dramatic Capture one, if anything. Those spindly-looking limbs are not doing him any favors, although I am pleasantly surprised by how substantial the altmodes seem to be. But for all that, the robot seems even more oddly lanky.

Also, the apparent slight downward tilt of the shuttle nosecone reminds me of the unpleasant stuttering low-energy transformation in FFOD that went on way too long. Maybe that's just in this shot though.

I am endlessly amused that having eschewed the "wrap stuff in paper" mode of packaging accessories has led to this dude looking like he's packaged with spooge.

Shockwave looks just as tiny as expected. I've hated the SS86 scale split ever since Optimus was first revealed, so this is nothing new, but still very disappointing.

The pic lastmaximal posted makes the train look a lot better. I have to admit, that's pretty nice. The shuttle mode is more of a lateral move. Some things are better, but parts of it just look off in ways that bother me.

Overall, I don't like the robot mode as well as Siege/DC, but I do really appreciate one thing. It has a toy chest configuration:

The lack of color hurts it a bit, though I'm sure ToyHax will have a set for that.

I don't know, Astrotrain isn't quite hitting for me. My reaction whenever I see pictures is still "WHERE'S THE BEEF?". I don't hate the siege alt-modes and detailing as much as others do, so there's not even that upside for me. I think it's quite telling that the feature I'm liking the most so far are the blast effects included with him, specially the smoke plume.
Not really bothered by Shockwave being a bit short.

Yeah, if there's one mode that the Siege mold got the most right in terms of looks, it was the look of the robot mode. I'd even argue that the shuttle mode was pretty reminiscent of both the original 1985 toy and the cartoon model in terms of its overall shape (it was just that greeble toward the back of the shuttle that put off most people; had that area been smooth instead of skeletal-looking, I doubt most would have felt so ill about it). The steam engine was the mode that suffered the most with the Siege figure, having wonky proportions that resulted in a bizarre wheelbase that made it look impossible to run on any real-world rail gauge (though, I did appreciate the inclusion of the tender for real-world mechanical accuracy to how steam tender engines need a tender in order to even function). It's clear that with this figure they put the most effort in improving the steam engine's design and it does look all the better, but now the shuttle mode is more cylindrical instead of Astrotrain's classic boxy shuttle design (for better or worse depending on one's opinion about that), while the robot mode is now the messiest mode of the three, looking spindly in most places while only maintaining Astrotrain's traditional chunkiness in just the lower legs.

With Astrotrain, I think I'm mostly just disappointed that I now still have to decide whether I prefer Siege or DC more. I like the overall colors and stuff like the train pipe detailing on Siege, but hate the leg weathering. I tried removing it on mine, but that didn't go well... DC is mostly fine, but I just don't quite like its deco as much as Siege and I know it's only a matter of time before the toe paint becomes a big mess. I was kinda hoping SS86 would either be an ideal version of that mold or a clearly better mold. This is neither.

The beef is in the heals and feet, they are massive, or at least that's how the pictures make it seem and he got skinny legs, clearly skipped leg day, honestly, I'm going to pass on him, I'm mostly happy with the Siege verison and the 3D printed accessory that I got to cover up the shuttle mode weak point, this guy, he looks like the desginers just wanted to install a bunch of extra steps to the original desgin, when it might of been wiser to take the original toy desgin and do the Astrotrain verison of the missing link

Not my picture, but it looks like the shoulder-gun option does NOT mess up the combination ability. I doubt the arm can move much, but it's not bad:

I wonder if they stole this idea directly from LioKaiser, or if they were worked out at the same time?

*Bruticus fires back cannons*
*Bruticus fire shoulder gun*
*Bruticus just stands there as Megatron yells at him to destroy the Autobots because while he can clearly see Megatron's mouth moving, Bruticus can't hear ANYTHING...*

I think the people desgining LioKaiser likely had some to do with Bruticus desgining process, Bruticus on the whole, doesn't look to bad thou I hope someone comes up with a upgrade for those legs, they just look a bit to small for my tastes

I never picked up a Siege or related Shockwave (which is why the knee-less Walgreens one is what shows up the most commonly) but I will definitely get him as my Combaticon team's sixth ranger if I can afford it.

These proportions on Bruticus are looking much better; I think it may be the Onslaught colored bases that look invisible because your eye stops at registering Brawl and Swindle. The little panels each has on the front help draw the eye to the real size of the foot.

Of course now he looks like he's in faded jorts, but that's probably just the lighting.

I wonder how Combiner Wars Shockwave would look in Bruticus's hand.
