In less than good news, Serebii is reporting that the physical version of Pokopia will be a Game Key Card, rather than having the full game on there, requiring a 10 GB download. I think this is maybe the first time a "first party" Nintendo game has used a Game Key Card? I'm not sure. Either way, it's not great.

In better news, we got a trailer for the PokePark Kanto theme park in Japan. It'll be opening in February. It looks really charming. Even though, it's mostly statues, so I'm not sure what you actually do there, except buy merchandise and take selfies with said statues.

Pokopia trailer! The story looks...a little more interesting than I was expecting, honestly.

Okay, that opening scene has more implications than I was prepared for in this goofy farm-sim game. So, with the crumbling PokeCenter, does that mean this takes place in the distant future? Is that why there's no humans around? There was some sort of literal Poke-Pocalypse?! The fanfics were true!?

They did a good job of making Professor Tangrowth look like a old man, with his white vines. I wonder what the TM on his head is?

Oh...sweet..Arceus. If this IS the far-future, then that means Ditto is probably imitating her old trainer. Oh, that's...so much sadder than I was prepared for. This knowledge kind of changes the entire tone of the game.

This narrator is far too cheerful, given the surroundings and implications.

Oh, Magikarp longs to be fished up again. That's why it's attracted to the area when you put out fishing rods. That's so sad. It misses the fishermen who used to catch it (and throw it back, probably).

I do appreciate all of Ditto's cute and weird transformations. And she always keeps her hat. Nice touch.

Professor Tangrowth wants humans and Pokemon to live together again. So, do humans still exist or not?

"Why does seeing you like this make my eyes a bit Misty?" I see what you did there.

Painter Smeargle, Grey Uncharged Pikachu, and Mossy Snorlax! Interesting Pokemon variants. I suppose they'll be relatively important characters with their own side-stories in the game.

I'm not sure if I'm actually going to play this or not. Animal Crossing type games just aren't my thing. But, I AM interested to see if there's any follow up to the stuff they're hinting at. Or if they just keep it really vague throughout the entire game.
