Shredhead is alright; they're a beacon of originality in the sea of G1 nostalgia that was the early DWJ issues. We've been moving steadily into "anything goes" territory since then though. Nowhere near IDW levels, but thankfully it feels like stranglehold Subow S1-3 G1 had on the series and...

Brawl is on Bruticus's leg in that picture, the connection joint is just intercompatible between Superion and Bruticus.
Unless you're suggesting that Bruticus is also required, which given Superion is blatently mentioned in the product description for the two limbs and Bruticus is not, I don't...
It may not have been planned out well, but that doesn't mean it wasn't planned out. All this stuff was likely in the hopper for over a year before we saw it. Again, just because you find it inadaquate doesn't mean it was rushed or not in the cards well before we saw anything.
I would imagine that Nexus is far from the only figure to go through multiple concepts before settling on a final one and we just don't usually hear about it. They just probably did it more with Nexus and with wider ranging concepts.
And I'm a little skeptical that they just pulled new tooling...
Stock photos and descriptions of the two Nexus limbs are floating around, revealing 2 major things.
1. They explicitely say Superion's frame, suggesting that a specific Nexus Prime frame isn't coming anytime soon.
2. Given the name is more associated with a recreational vehicle than anything...
Modern Atari is a bit of a weird duck; firstly they're not the original Atari. Infogrames Entertainment bought the rights to the name and renamed themselves to Atari. Their attempts at clssic consoles were very tepid, leading to them falling into weird stuff like cryptocurrency, liscencing out...
Atari's not doing so hot, they may have over-extended themselves buying up stuff.
...I think, I dunno, this jive can be hard to read. I think they've been hemorrhaging millions of dollars every year, but I could be reading this backwards or something...
Honestly, I think we're approach the time, if not having passed it already, to ask the question of if adults have suprassed kids in regards to the primary consumer of the Genertions/Studio series figures.
Wonder if that game being made by the Space Marine team is still happening, whatever it is.

Originally there was a very specific distinction: Studio Series was the live action line, while the other half of Generations was the "everything else, but mostly G1" line. Obviously that's no longer the case, which is where the line obsfucation comes from, but there was a method to the madness...
Yeah, both AotP/AoE and Studios Series are still listed under "Gen" in computer listings, which I suppose could mean something other than "Generations" but that's a real stretch.

It feels like there's been an uptick in reissues, repacks and even additional waves filled with redecos. They're trying to save money any which way.
I feel like this is less "Let's fill the line with 1984 cast" and more "let's fill the line with toys we've already done and can just re-release...
