The issue with the Star Wars toys is that they weren't designed by Transformer designers, so the team making them didn't really have much experience making transforming vehicles. The Takara Darth Vader was made by experienced individuals and it shows. Same thing with the Mandolorean crossover...

Nah, the new one is more curvy and dynamic while the old one is more boxy. New one definitely looks inspired by the old one though.

I appreciate that you don't have to remove the heads to transform him (them?) I have to wonder if they originally were going to be full headmasters, but turning each head into a multi-piece mini-figure probably would have upped the already inflated price even more.

You know what's a bummer? The coolest thing about Unicron is that you didn't know he could transform; he was just basically a planet-munching death star and then, oh jive, one of the coolest animated scenes of the movie and 'is that a fist' and then your realize he's a planet sized transformer...
