It's interesting because Q could have done something that the android body could have easily done - make him a younger healthy version of himself that could have been recast and the character continue.
It's a shame Jodie never got a fair chance to have even remotely well written stories for her. Chibnall needed to go from the very start and now that he's gone she didn't have to be part of the package. But it is what it is.
Hopefully RTD can retcon/undo that Timeless Child garbage because if...
Of course, if that were true (retcon notwithstanding) Lal should have looked like Kore. But of course Data gave her a choice, which was a more genuine take. The thing about using Kore is a base is that it's not like Soong made a conscious choice to make her look like that - it's just what the...
There are a few "bad writing" quirks that pop up each episode. But I have to say I honestly like this season and there's a lot of cool stuff. I just wish they'd get their pacing together.
Well Raffi and Seven were pretty fun with the "buddy cop" dynamic. But now everything has to be sexualized and people can't just be friends if they're the same gender anymore.
I guess it's par for the course for this show. I remember in the first season they ****ed around for 6 or 7 episodes and then crammed everything they could into the last couple. That was one of the many problems with it.
This season over all is much better, much more interesting, and much more...
True. I suppose it's possible the time cops could exist outside the normal timelines. I still think the Guinan not knowing him thing was just a last minute "Oh.. oh yeah, we totally meant to do that!" excuse and did not in fact give it that much thought. I dunno what to think but it was a nice...
Well that nonsense with Guinan really took the wind out of the sails for this show. Different actress... I'm not fully against it but I'm not fully on board with it when we already know what Guinan looked like in the 1800s - not to mention the fact that in this very show they used de-aging CGI...
The main issue to me with the entire premise of "modern Trek" is just the cultural sensibilities the writers and directors have shifted to. When you think of anything from TOS - Enterprise, the idea of a Starfleet crew is in the form of highly trained, highly disciplined and highly competent...
There were some ships named after people with their full names that exist as real people in our timeline, but they are people like Albert Einstein and John F Kennedy.
Certainly more notable than a random Captain in Starfleet, I agree.
I agree with all of that. I think what happened to the General was a bit of a cop out, but overall this was easily the best season of Discovery with the best finale. I know that typically comes with the disclaimer of "that's not a very high bar to meet" but it was really good. While Trek has...
That was a really great episode that was very 'edge of your seat' until the lead up to the end. I'm always going to be a sucker for anything to do with time travel and timelines though.
