It’s hilarious how they had to really try hard to consume the paint budget. Fake rubsign, crotch detail, even the heart’s something you’d expect to be sculpted but unpainted
I'm against the idea just because of the stupid gappy wings. No, it doesn't look cool, it doesn't look futuristic. It just shows off the robot parts sitting underneath.
I think they just wanted the Nexus Prime combiner mode to be a surprise when they reveal the limbs later this year but they decided to show off the combiner functionality as damage control when the fandom collectively shat on Nexus.
Seems a waste to release the voyager then the frame later on...
I dunno man, if you can't show that stuff yet, maybe hold Nexus off until you can? I can't imagine anybody would care too much about him being in the next subline when Vector Prime didn't come out in AOTP. They're doing the toy a huge disservice by not advertising its features on the box, even...
I don’t think there’s anything hyperbolic about thinking that a toy has a passable robot mode, a completely garbage altmode and a gappy torso mode that requires another, more expensive toy to access is bad. 33% is a failing grade anywhere.
I just realized that the combiner photos are taken with Superion's frame but with the torso turned around 180 degrees. Meaning we get the choice of Superion with a different head, or the worst recorded case of pectus excavatum.
I suppose not having to breath means that he can survive his ribs being caved in.
I guess with a big enough group, like say, thirteen there were bound to be some stinkers but this was bad from the conceptual level. Jeez.
