I am completely old-school and prefer viewing the site on a desktop or laptop, mostly. Sometimes though, if I just want to do a quick check, I will use my phone.
I will grant that at the time, the prospect of any kind of live action Transformers film was improbable and became very exciting. I will even go so far as to say that Michael Bay seemed like a reasonable-enough action film director to take a stab at the Transformers brand. And on first blush...
Okay, now those are seriously cool. Getting some Aliens feels from the drop ship and the apc. Diaclone just keeps getting better! And my wallet weeps...
That is cool! I love Easter-eggy things like that. I still haven't picked him up yet but he already looked like a fun and nicely-designed toy before the alternate transformation.
True. But I was just trying to underscore the types of conversations that were going on back then, as relates to the (then-very-unlikely) prospect of any type of new Devastator. Yes, we got one in a set, which is probably the smart way to do it. But the fact remains that we got one at all...
Oh, Devastator - that is another one that I still have to pinch myself about, years later. I remember a time (not all that long ago, in the grand scheme of things) when the notion of an updated G1 Devastator was laughable. "It'll never pass the drop test", "Hasbro will never release six...
3p will most assuredly do kits for her. There will be the usual gap fillers and such, with some extra rotating turrets thrown in for good measure. There will definitely be unnecessary parts that justify the cost of admission. Without a doubt, Reprolabels will create stickers for every panel...
Pretty nice reveals, overall.
I am happy with Devcon (never thought I'd see the day!). Beachcomber looks good but I still feel like we had a relatively recent modern update on him. Oh well.
I like how Armada Megs turned out so I will probably pick him up.
Nemesis was inevitable but looks...
Well you better get your set fast. There are only 16 left in stock!
There are so many "I can't believe that this is real" moments for me from the past 20-or-so years. A lot have been mentioned already, but I'll throw in the following:
-An actual-ass MP Skyfire. Not Jetfire, Skyfire. And...
Man, that is impressive! I wish that I had the space and financial resources to go in on Dion. And while I'm wishing, I wish that The Ark had been more of a playset like this. Regardless, I like knowing that this thing is out there.
I would say that you are probably okay short term to use plastic shopping bags. However, if what you are after is a longer-term solution, plop down the dough and spring for the Ziploc bags.
I wasn't huge on PCC, but I picked up a few and still love Smolder to this day. I've had hours and hours of fun with that toy. A Decepticon hearse would be so cool! And I have to say too that an updated Electromagnetic Soundwave would be really nice.
Couldn't agree more re: plastic bags, CrockAlley. I've done exactly what you've done since the 90s as well, and my figures are all as decent as they were the last time I checked on them. I've opened them plenty over the years of course, but when not being transformed or displayed, many remain...
Hmm...interesting. In a perfect world, I suppose that I'd like to see:
Core
G1 Beastbox
G1 Squawktalk
G1 Steeljaw
Deluxe
G1 Windcharger
BW Silverbolt
BM Thrust
BM Jetstorm
Voyager
G1 Roadbuster
Armada Demolisher with Blackout*
*only under the Voyager price point because they can't seem to...
I really do like her deco more than I expected to. Although I don't like the vehicle mode as much for her (works much better as the intended Elita-1), the robot mode is pretty nice - even with the loss of the headmaster feature. Glad to hear that she's finally hitting the shelves.
Preordered Thundercracker from Pulse. He's the first seeker that I bought growing up, and I always loved that toy. The color differences on this update are nice, IMO. Bring on Skywarp!
