Neither do I. He's one of the dozens of IDW1 OCs we were supposed to care about I guess based off the head aesthetic.
I do like the idea of a Decepticon medic turning into a hearse but the toy's not a hearse and he's colored like a bottle of Mountain Dew Code Red.
He’s very… adequate. There’s nothingwrong with him but there’s no hook. He has an adequate transformation, looks cool and all and has a nifty shoulder cannon to try and fit in with the 84 autobots but doesn’t represent a standout character, has no noteworthy transformation or articulation and...
They just need a solid, widespread form of media that has a robust set of toy offerings for both adult collectors and children. No sense in dividing a dwindling market further.
This one has my attention. I can take or leave combining DInobots but Cang Toys has drifted into an aesthetic closer to Gundam. I also like the Geno Saurer vibes the T-rex mode has, while still being recognizable as Grimlock.
Zoids-looking beast modes will always get my attention, if I'm honest.
I think they'll probably have to compromise the back. G1 Ultra Magnus isn't as much a figure as it is one of those standees with the face cutouts for photos.
Yeah, character’s not very memorable, colors are a bit generically autobot and the swappable hand replacements are all that’s notable really. He’s also got a badass gun for a medic I guess.
That said, still more interesting than Flatline.
I bought an Armada Red Alert at a local online shopping platform. They had it at slightly less than retail and with coupons and stuff ended up at about Deluxe price.
He definitely had a darker blue-purple color but the sky blue colors were mapped on the same button as everyone's default colors.
that theory sounds almost plausible but I've also heard is that black would be difficult to convey animations. Thing is, he does have a black alt-color, albeit only...
I’m interested in Magnus in a “how the hell will they make this articulated AND look like the old toy” way.
Grimlock is nice in that it’s the closest thing we’ll get to a reissue but it’s relatively simple to see how you can install joints into the design.
Scrapper looks decent but he doesn’t really do a lot of transforming in any mode so he’s kind of a freebie. Bonecrusher is just stubby all around for some reason.
Devastator has a ridiculously wide upper body with puny arms and in general doesn’t look anywhere near good enough to compensate...
I want to do that but with the pipes pointing upwards. It doesn't look like there's anything stopping us from doing that but a lot of hinge joints often only bend in one direction.
I’m betting PCC but without the dumb springs.
I looked at the Sandstorm pics and wow, he's nearly identical to the original release. About the only difference I can see is the helicopter nose being silver instead of black and maaaybe a different orange. That really sucks for early adopters who wanted the cartoon face.
