Two bits of news come in on the mysterious "Swapticon" gimmick subline first reported some time ago. First, Walmart.com now has listings up for the first wave of toys. No pictures or descriptions as of yet, but we can see that the price will be $7.97 for each two pack. The two packs consist...
But this time, the price actually went DOWN, which is new. It shows that they're willing to make Titan a flexible price point instead of fixed like all the other classes.
I haven't handled the Missing Link version at all, but I do love the Deluxe. Anyone that has a ML can correct me if I'm wrong, but I would imagine that it's a little more fiddly and fragile? Whereas the Legacy Deluxe is a solid toy that feels like a kid (or a 45 year old) could actually play...
Oh, I'm not saying that they've ever been presented as being the same guy before. I just said that I'd be open to the idea to help consolidate some of the various groupings of "big special important creations of Primus." Vector Prime definitely seems to have been inspired by the Last Autobot...
Browsing his wiki profile, I guess the only direct contradition (other than the possible "both in the same room" comic panel that you showed earlier) is with Fun Publications, which isn't super canon anyway? So I guess there really isn't any reason they can't be the same guy.
Even the comic...
I get the feeling that, if they hadn't been interrupted by Ghost-bi-Wan, that Yoda maybe had planned to keep stringing Luke along for a good long while to really get to know him and test him. He had promised to take Luke to Yoda, so maybe he was going to maybe lead Luke around in circles...
It would definitely contradict some previous material in other continuities, but different continuities rarely agree on much anyway, so that doesn't really bother me.
Exactly. This is, after all, Vader's son. Yoda wanted to know Luke's character, so seeing how Luke would treat a harmless and unimportant but annoying person would reveal a lot.
If the KO is cheap enough, I can see it. I absolutely love the Legacy Deluxe, but there are significant differences (both design wise and size wise) between it and the literal G1 with knees that is Missing Link.
I'd be open to a story where we find out that Vector Prime IS the Last Autobot. Like The Doctor (who?), due to living a time-travelers lifestyle, his personal timeline does not in any way match up to everyone elses. That Marvel story takes place towards the end of his extremely long lifetime.
I would totally be down for a Last Autobot, but I could see it being redundant, design-wise, since they already are including Vector Prime. That would make 2 of the 13 pretty dang similar looking.
Now, if they want to do a Last Autobot repaint of Vector Prime as it's own thing, I'd buy it.
I wasn't really into the idea of the 13, and I doubt I'll go all-in or anything, but The Fallen was always gonna be a buy, and Prima has that sweet Five Faces of Darkness thing going for him (we really need a Trannis remold of Wreck-Gar for him to fight!), Star Convoy/Optimus is awesome, and...
