Can't find the general Stege Thread, so I'm posting this here. Local store has a preorder for a reissue of the War for Cybertron Siege Greenlight and Dazzlestrike set with an ETA of June.

I'm not sure where better to put this, since we don't know what line they'd be a part of when they come out.

The normal Stunticons were in Legacy, not Legacy Evolution.

Sure, but then I saw the box. In fact, I used the wiki to remember which G2s hadn't been released yet. But I didn't bother to look at what line the G1s were a part of, since I thought I'd already determined that. I didn't expect the box to be incorrect about what line it's a part of. XP

Anyway, I edited the post last night.

So when are Swindle and Onslaught being released? I just want to know when I should start checking shelves, or just pre-order them.

The boxset was a different release from the individuals, as it contained toy-colored redecos and came out one year after the five individual releases. The individual mass retail Stunticons were in Legacy, the toy-colored redeco giftset was in the following year's Legacy Evolution.

The Stunticons are a great example of why I group all 3 Legacy lines as just Legacy and don't bother distinguishing the sublines. The original versions of the Stunticons were mostly released in the first year, branded as just Legacy. Breakdown was released in Evolution, just like the boxset. Menasor was not entirely released within Legacy proper, and was only completed in Evolution. So IMO it's not worth making a distinction.

And to be honest? For all practical purposes, it was all "the same line" since the SKU didn't reset each year.

Wasn't Breakdown released in Legacy (not Evolution) packaging anyway? IIRC they do that with "repacks" now (instead of obvious packaging variants).

I mean, yeah, it is and it isn't.

Yes, despite releasing during Evolution, he did have Legacy packaging. Depending on your luck, he might have either Legacy or Evolution instructions. (I got Evolution. 🫤) He was kinda all over the place.

I'm just passing on a lot these days. The tendency to repeat characters who have perfectly good toys from less than ten years ago, combined with inflation, means impulse buying is pretty much dead outside of clearance or closeouts.

Yeah, I know, someone's gonna say that ten years ago is a while and some people didn't have the chance to buy those or whatever. Good for those people, but I personally don't need it.
