I suspect this is going to be especially damning for them.
If they had put out a statement about it being a tragic incident with the agent firing being unaware that the victim had been disarmed, it would have probably flown with a lot of people.
But this makes it pretty clear they are putting out wholly false narratives in an attempt to justify/coverup what actually happened.

Things are only going to get worse from here. This is the new normal. I was in two areas today in Maine that ICE has been targeting: Portland and Lewiston. Both are vibrant multicultural areas and are two of the very few places in Maine that aren’t 99% white.

My Trump Derangement Syndrome is causing hallucinations now. I straight up saw a video of a half-dozen ICE agents execute a man after disarming him and wrestling him to the ground.

Even if you take ICE related deaths out, it's likely much higher than that and will grow quite a bit. We have a friggin anti-vaxer in charge of health and human services because of Trump, that alone will cause thousands of deaths. USAID was gutted, which provided tons of life-saving care around the world. Those fisherman bombed by Trump? The people died in the raid that captured Maduro? The young National Guard member who was killed due to Trump putting her in harms way just to inflate his own ego(I know, Trump doesn't hold full blame for that one, but he's at least partially culpable for what happened)? It's already adding up to way more than 2.....

I know I played devil’s advocate with Renee Good’s murder…but there is no disparity here. All the camera angles reinforce the same narrative:
The man was trying to assist another woman who ICE had knocked to the ground to get her up and away. In response, he was peppersprayed, forced to the ground, his gun reportedly removed from his person…and then, in the presence of nearly a half dozen armed men, was shot 9-10 times (basically, an entire pistol magazine) while being held to the ground.
This VA ICU nurse was murdered for trying to help another human being while exercising his constitutional rights to carry a licensed weapon and record the public actions of federal agents.
And I fear his will just be another in body count that will rise as Trump and his bootlickers are continued to allowed free reign because too many in Congress/Courts are either have no balls, or just as complicit In allowing this to happen.

I've never seem him that emotional and I've watched quite a few of his videos. This country is at a breaking point..... I'm really not sure where we go from here. I hate it, I hate it so much that I'm beginning to think civil war might be the only way out of this..... I'm nearly in tears just THINKING these thoughts myself....

I don't know if we're on the path for civil war. This has really stretched across the aisle and I'm seeing more Trump supporters than ever talking about the bridge too far. I don't think there are enough supporters truly left to mount a war.
I do believe that this election season we will see a lot of people running on the 'disband ICE' platform. That will be a consideration on who gets my vote.

Don’t underestimate the blind indoctrination that has occurred across the US, especially in the South. I work with fairly intelligent people, even young ones, who still fail to wrap their brains around the very idea that the government and authority…might not be on their side. That such innately evil things could be perpetrated by elected officials. You have, literal, generations who have grown up watching Fox News, which has slowly poisoned the entire political discourse (it really wasn’t until COVID that the hospital stopped defaulting to Fox News on the public televisions).
Even after the execution in Minnesota, they are still “trying to walk the line” that Alex Pretti shouldn’t have been there with a gun, that “it was a split second decision”, that we don’t see enough events prior, that it was all done “in the heat of the moment”, even that people shouldn’t be out protesting at all. People around here have been raised under the impression that patriotism and supporting troops/law enforcement somehow means being blindly loyal and to assume that if someone is killed, it was THAT person that did “something” wrong to justify it. I’m doing my best as “the crazy liberal” (typically said in jest, especially as I’ve referred to myself as such), but it’s still a cultural wall that is still fairly hardy here in Oklahoma. And then you have the older ladies my mother sews with who, being raised in this area, at best follow along with what their husbands/fathers have dictated or simply chose to bury their heads in the sand.
Maybe my innate cynicism has let me view things with a more open mind. Maybe, coming from Iowa before the education system went to crap, I’m just better educated?
The big issue I’m seeing with ICE is that, as an entity, it has and still provides a meaningful service. The problem is that, under Noem and Trump, it has become poisoned by lack of regulation, lack of oversight, and a stuffing of unqualified people given the false impression of the scope of their authority. There needs to be an agency to fulfill the “proper role” of ICE, but after the past year? ICE, as an entity, has become too toxic to be allowed to exist, and probably DOES need to be purged and a new agency established to replace it. However, as with all things these days, it’s “all or nothing”. And the messaging will get muddled because it’s not a simple enough issue to address in slogans.

Yea, I do hope civil war can be avoided. The blowback from the last killing MIGHT push us over and wake enough people up, but the current admin is so lawless, I'm not sure it will matter.
If we DO get through this, the DHS itself should be disbanded and the agencies should be split back up the way they were before the patriot act was enacted. Abolish ICE and bring back the INS. The INS wasn't perfect, but ICE has become rotten to the core(the rot started way before the FIRST trump administration, he just accelerated it)

There was this branch reality where Palestinians bombed a building in OKC, but it turned out to be Timothy McVeigh and the PLO branch collapses back into the main branch.
I've known, of course for a while, that nowadays with the fake new / alt news stuff there are multiple versions of events simultaneously. There is a 9/11 where Trump tried to the vote not certified so he could stay President. There is another where the Left created a fake riot to make Trump look bad. But I thought of it as isolated events.

Talk about why he died. It was because Minnesota has a statewide daycare fraud bloodguilt and they are trying to divert attention from it.
