Hugging Hell. I don't think I've ever driven a vehicle that can even go 111.

The Florida Department of Transportation on Monday announced the removal of license plate reader cameras after Gov. Ron DeSantis expressed his concerns with the artificial intelligence-powered flock cameras,

According to FDOT, local law enforcement agencies will have 30 days to remove the flock cameras that are currently operational.

If those cameras are not removed within 30 days, FDOT will remove them.

FDOT has also revoked all LPR-related approvals.

The absolute Chaotic Neutral State of Florida did good today.

Florida has gone so red so fast that DeSantis is almost a moderate. He's alienating a lot of his allies with this move.

I don't know if it's getting any national attention but Florida police are big mad about losing these cameras. It's a huge topic right now. And no one is coming to their rescue. DeSantis is standing his ground, FDOT are standing their ground, and that's that.

If what's happening here is a template for how this is going to go, be encouraged. The surveillance state isn't inevitable. You're not up against something too powerful to fight. All we had to do was say no.

That's probably what they said about Ohio during COVID, too.

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

Not criminally liable isn't not civilly liable. They'll take him to court, and own every penny he makes for the rest of his life, and probably his kids lives as well.

That's not how it should have gone, but "muricah!" under a bigot.

When it comes to cops and republicans "nothing to hide, nothing to fear" never applies, because they always have something to fear.
