At least -- as far as we know -- Feige isn't as horrendous as McMahon.

Indeed. Though McMahon being that awful is probably the only reason he was eventually forced out.

From a purely creative perspective, though, Vince was shot. And I think Feige might be too. The only real hits Marvel has had since Endgame have been movies that banked heavily on nostalgia for older movies that weren't even MCU films originally. With that in mind it's no secret why so much of the latest Avengers movie cast list was Fox X-Men alumni. Going back to the wrestling analogy, it's like that same 2019-2022 period where the only reliably over acts were the old part timers on nostalgia runs.

Vince McMahon's sins far exceeded booking bad pro wrestling, but creatively speaking that was very much an issue keeping people away. I don't know if Kevin Feige is fairing any better on that front.

He clearly had the Midas touch once, but it seems like his style and creative instincts just aren't connecting like they used to. And like every creator at that point, going to bank on nostalgia for what came before as his saving grace.

It's out on disc now, so I watched it last night. Interesting time jump amount for the post-credits scene, as it seemed like the end of this year's Captain America film implied Sam was getting his Avengers going pretty quickly after the cleanup.

Also, while we now know what the asterisk was supposed to stand for, I still think it stands for the meme "* Men will do anything rather than get therapy."

I screamed at the post credits scene.

There's only four superhero movies this year? My ranking is

Thunderbolts
Superman
Fantastic Four
Captain sAmerica

I connected to Thunderbolts more over Superman.

Just got to see this. I was very surprised and very impressed by this movie. While it does have heroes and powers, it is, at its core, a movie about depression, loss, and finding a reason to move on. Powerful messages well presented with great actors.
This is a damn fine movie.
