Somehow Premium Finish returned. TakaraTomy has tweeted a promotional image of Dramatic Capture Series Optimus Prime and Jetfire, revealing all modes of the included toys and their accessories. The set includes Studio Series Optimus Prime and Jetfire, with a luxurious (if incomplete) paint job. Prime notably includes one blaster and both swords, whereas previous releases have included either the blaster or the swords. However, the silver forearms of Studio Series Optimus Prime remain uncorrected. You can't have it all. But if you want to have this, you can snag a pre-order starting March 6. This set is a notable change of pace for Dramatic Capture Series, which up until now has focused on the G1 cartoon, making its trajectory an intriguing reversal of Studio Series. Could this be a one-off, or are Movie toys about to dramatically capture the Dramatic Capture Series? Join the Allspark today.

Garry Chalk took to his Facebook to give us an update on how his battle with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is going, and the news? It's good! Here's the message from the man himself, via Chalk Talk on Twitter: Chalk Talk adds that Garry was the first candidate in Canada to receive an experimental chemotherapy, and due to its success, it will now be used on more patients. I think he would agree that there's a word for that... We knew you could do it, Big Bot. For those who don't know, Garry Chalk is perhaps best known among Transformers fans for portraying Optimus Primal in Beast Wars and Beast Machines, as well as Optimus Prime in Transformers: Armada, Transformers: Energon, and Transformers: Cybertron. Outside of Transformers, he has had numerous roles in franchises such as Mega Man, ReBoot, Sonic the Hedgehog (including a live action part in the first movie), and Masters of the Universe, among many others. The original Transformers Legends line came to a close in Japan back in 2019, and with it ended the manga which told the story of why every single new attempt made over the years to create more cartoon-accurate toys is actually canon to their version of Generation 1, where the characters already looked like the characters to begin with, and oh, I've gone cross-eyed. In all seriousness, though: It looks like TakaraTomy are continuing their Transformers Legends line with Transformers New Legends, which... well, features new Legends toys. And stories! With it comes a new manga titled "The Transformers: End of G1 Universe". Catchy, huh? If you're wondering why it says "Chapter 2" in the above image, however, it's because the two parts of the first chapter were originally published back in 2022 to promote the Masterpiece release of Dark Amber Leo Prime early the following year. But since that Masterpiece line is now kaput, they've shifted the story over to, well, this. As one might infer from the title, this story takes place after the events of The Transformers: Beast Wars Neo, and this episode even cuts back to the closing moments of the final battle of that show in the opening, which also predates the aforementioned first chapter -- basically, the new one is telling us how we got there. You can check out the original Japanese language version over on TakaraTomy's official website, but if you can't make heads or tails of what it's saying, then good news! Thanks to Sabrblade, we have an English translation posted over on our forums! (There's at least one other floating around, but this one's a little more polished.) The first page is above, but there's 17 more just waiting for you! Feel free to talk about this episode here, or the series as a whole over in the "New TakaraTomy Legends Line" thread in our forums! After another week off, it's time for another week on Cyberworld! For "Hider & Seeker," the YouTube description is thus: Check it out: As an added bonus, Sabrblade says that the game scenes -- yes, only those -- from episodes 6, 2, 8, and 11 are attached afterward. Eh, makes more sense than running the previous three episodes backwards, at least. Anyway, here's my spoiler-filled recap and thoughts: Feel free to talk about this episode here, or the series as a whole over in the "Transformers 2 Cyber 2 World" thread in our forums! We've heard speculation. We've heard rumors. We've heard hints. Now, we see. TFW2005 member Nune, who we will remember from last month's big leak, has revealed stock images of Generations Selects Monstructor, a gift set comprised of a quite extensive remold of Transformers Legacy United Dinoking, itself a remold of Legacy United Volcanicus. The Monster Pretenders here have brand new alt modes that are... quite fitting for the characters at least. The originals are roughly the size of Micromasters and no more complicated than that. I for one find that the goofy charm of the original is quite well preserved. Now excuse me while I press F5 until Hasbro makes the official announcement and preorders begin. Join the Allspark today.

From Joshua Reese on Transformers Botposting on Facebook, we have our first look at Season 2 Transformers Cyberworld figures. The photos feature both toys present at NY Toy Fair as well as some renders. The toys feature some returning characters as well as some new to the toyline. All include translucent sections representing an Energon Surge as the theme of the line. See the gallery below for a first look at these upcoming toys! Want to talk about these upcoming figures? Looks like Transformers: Cyberworld had graduated from a mere stopgap filler line to a [Note to self: Come back and insert something witty here later. --LBD] line! IGN reports that Transformers: Cyberworld, the little line that was said to only be here to fill in the gap until Hasbro had an idea of what to do after abandoning Earthspark early, is going into extra innings with a second season slated to debut on YouTube in August 2026. Here's the synopsis: To that end, the second season comes with a potential subtitle to reflect the new importance the Transformers' life force plays in this chapter of the saga: "Energon Surge"! To that end, a new Bumblebee "Power Spark" figure will be released this Summer based on a new form he'll take as a result of this new surge of energon: This 11-inch figure (no telling yet whether he'll get an accompanying growth spurt in the show, but that would be cool) transforms in four steps, has lights and sounds, and his weapons combine to form a nifty little drone that resembles an insect of some unknown variety. Possibly a wasp... Anyway, this Bee will buzz for you once you lay down $54.99 USD And just for funsies, here are some stock images of Bumblebee in his original and recently-upgraded Cyberworld forms, which he can switch between freely. Think Power Spark will effectively make him a triple-changer? And since you probably want the full monty, here's the promo image for the upcoming season in its entirety: Sources: IGN, via Tformers, via Steevy Maximus. Share your surprise and amazement below, or over in the "Transformers Cyberworld: Trukk AND Munky" thread in our forums! Allspark Forums Discord Server Twitter/X Facebook Page Bluesky Instagram
You know, like we usually do. Only we don't have to do it alone this time! Beginning at 10am (presumably EST) on Saturday, February 14th, Hasbro Pulse is hosting a watch along as they stream Valentine's themed episodes from the original Transformers cartoon! Now, I don't remember any being specifically themed towards Valentine's Day, but there were a few romantic ones sprinkled about in there. So join in, and cheer as Powerglide gets the girl! Cry as Seaspray parts ways with the one girl who can put up with his gargling voice! Laugh as Ultra Magnus says "I've never seen anything this beautiful in the entire galaxy... All right, give me the bomb." Cry again as you're reminded of when Season 5 left weekday syndication for Saturday mornings with Puppetmaster Optimus Prime, and that's how the show went out! It all happens tomorrow morning on the Hasbro Pulse YouTube Channel! Or, if you insist on being alone, I guess maybe you can just watch it via the embed here. Or turn off the chat there, whatever works for you. [/SPOILER] Allspark Forums Discord Server Twitter/X Facebook Page Bluesky Instagram
In Lessons Swiftly Learned And Never (Or Repeatedly) Forgotten news, the 40th anniversary of the 1986 The Transformers: The Movie is under way, and Hasbro has decided to celebrate it in a unique, and perhaps appropriate, way. Bitter children of the 80s Fans everywhere may be delighted to discover that Hasbro is embarking on The Apology Tour, a cheeky playful celebration of the franchise's animated classic and its role in killing Optimus Prime escalating the age-old battle between Autobots and Decepticons. This tour includes "special fan events and screenings" across the year, a slew of cool 86-movie-related Studio Series product, and apparently even more from Hasbro AND partners like Super 7, Jada Toys, Culture Fly, and beyond! Perhaps best of all, one thing that might smooth over any lingering hurt feelings is the chance to have THE TOUCH. Hasbro is finally releasing an official roleplay Matrix of Leadership that opens, glows, charges, AND plays "The Touch"! You know the song, you know the lyrics! (Shhh... don't forgive them yet. Let's see what we can get if we hold out!) Allspark Forums Discord Server Twitter/X Facebook Page Bluesky Instagram
From Nune at TFW2005, we have our first look at Wave 2 of Studio Series '86 figures. Featured in this wave are: Kranix, the Lithonian who famously slipped away from Unicron only to be devoured by Sharkticons on Quintessa: He converts from Lithonian Scientist to the spaceship mode previously only seen in the Marvel comics. Astrotrain, a brand new take on the character that converts between robot, space shuttle and train mode. It has yet to be revealed if Studio Series Devastator can be assembled inside of him in shuttle mode. Shockwave, which appears to be a remold of the previous Siege version of the character without the additional armor/parts. Skywarp, adding to the SS'86 Seeker group And finally Sunstreaker and Wheeljack who appear to be rereleases of the Earthrise versions of the molds. Bits and pieces have been coming out about since last year, but now Takara (by way of their "T-Spark" YouTube channel) has dropped a new trailer on us to get a better look at what this new breed of Transformers is all about. From the description: Here's the video, and fortunately, there are English captions to help us follow along: While the designs seem to fall between the complexities of the Michael Bay movie style and the "that actually looks like a face" aesthetic of most other incarnations of the series, this showcase with Ironhide and Blackout definitely seems to be going for a more "real" approach, right down to the weapons they're carrying. No space-lasers, energo-swords, or fantastic powers here -- just lots of hot lead, and maybe a knife or two. Oh, and as little color as possible. Incidentally, little clue as to what "Overgear" means in the context of the story, unless that's the term for breaking out all of those big guns and stuff. For those interested in learning more, it appears that the T-Spark crew will be showing a "pre-recorded streaming and visitors display event" video on Friday, February 13th at 8pm JST: As you can see from the thumbnail, it looks like one of the topics may be discussion of Overgear, among other things. Thanks to PrimalxConvoy for the tips! So, what do you think? Is it a little too "real" for you, or is this just the shake-up the brand needs as we look to the future? Feel free to discuss it here, as well as in the "Japanese Transformers News" thread in our forums! Allspark Forums Discord Server Twitter/X Facebook Page Bluesky Instagram
