Now with pinchy claw action!

Trailer didn't wow me and the toy looks pretty underwhelming. It's a very baseline Optimus done fairly well but we get at least one of those annually and this one lacks the decency to hide his arms, leaving them sticking out of truck mode. I have no desire to buy this thing, especially if the final product retains the "used coffee filter" pantone for half the toy. Fix the colors and at least hide the hands and I'd probably bite.

they seemed to have two forms, initially just Orion Pax and D-16 and then after gaining transformation from Alpha Trion they seemed to change a bit.
Right, parts of their bodies altered to allow for them to transform. But they're still just Orion and D-16 at that point. Orion hasn't yet received the Matrix and D-16 hasn't yet turned to the dark side. The same thing happened to B-127 and Elita One when they received their own T-Cogs.

It is really weird they gave everyone else a different, ealier name but not to Elita-1, who is one of the characters who has an existing name like that!
She's probably become too relevant in her current form to have her name changed, what with her "Ariel" name having become more obscure since it wasn't brought back into the mainstream like Optimus's "Orion Pax" name was.

What better time or way, then?
A certain mainstream Disney character having the same name may also be a factor, here.

Or maybe Hasbro just doesn't want her to have a second name and don't feel that Elita needs to have a similar life-changing body upgrade since she's neither a Matrix-bearer nor a faction leader.

They already solved that with Erial. Same pronouncation, but not connected to any fishy princessess.

It works until you have to say it out loud, like they would in one of these shows. Unless it follows the same syllabic stress as Elita, as in E-REE-al.

Ultimately I don't think it's really worth the effort at this point, since they've gone multiple series with her just being Elita so that aspect of the character hasn't been reinforced in media. Maybe she already did the name change thing before we see the story begin, or whatever. Or maybe it was L.E.

That Optimus sold out on Amazon faster than the new Taylor Swift album.
Maybe that’s why Hasbro didn’t stick him into the general Studio Series Deluxe assortment :p

New, in hand, images are a bit more flattering with the grey. But, again, that Prime Changer figure is no slouch for $5 cheaper, so I’m curious to see the comparison between the two offerings later this summer.

The title needs to be updated, as well. Film’s release date got bumped to September 20 (supposedly to “Maximize Imax” screenings and space out from Beetlejuice 2).
