The first problem with that is: thinking three more months ahead is still not long term, or long term enough to make a difference. Not when the attitude is "line must go up, or else". Might reduce the overall stress on some middle managers and CPA's since they're only doing it twice a year instead of four times, but otherwise, nothing is really changed.

The second problem is: trump suggested it, the only reason he wants it is that there's three more months to cook the books, and less time for oversight to actually correct it. The actual problem with american capitalism is that the company is only beholden to shareholders and not their employees, communities or consumers.

And shareholders like quarterly reports because it gives them a chance to feel like their pants are tight.

Ironbite-Trump really isn't a businessman and should probably stick to oppressing minorities.
