So I saw that Target has a huge endcap display with the Apology tour signs all over it.
Looks like Target now has to do their own Apology Tour for still using the TFTM Apology Tour signs at a time like this.

So the new footage is a 12 minute short called Optimus Prime: Awakening, with Peter Cullen's final performance, joined with Welker playing Megatron and Soundwave.

It's probably not what I would have chosen to add to the film story wise, but it will be something given what's happened to hear Cullen and Welker interact one final time.

Dear god make it available on Amazon! (oh, and blu-Ray if they still exist)

I always dreamed of extra material for the movie, like maybe a short showing quintessons reviving Unicron between those stars or a short showing the progress between 1985 - 2005 but it's here!

Well, they just introduced the UHD Blu-ray on Amazon,

So if it is not on there, it probably won't be on one for a while.

I don't see the details on the Amazon preorder page, but the press release says it will include this short. The title hadn't been announced yet, so it's listed as "Animated Coda (TBD) (2026)".

Well that instantly went from pass to pre-order.

ITZZZ AI!!!! has become such a tired discourse. Not everything (a general) you don't like is AI.
Nobody said it was? Nobody made a value judgment about the product to deduce it is AI, nor did they say it was AI in general. They just asked whether people thought it was likely AI would be used for this short, which is a fair question to ask in this day and age.

Sorry, to me this...

... absolutely seems like it's fishing for something.
"AI" has become a boogieman to just trot out against something you either don't like or want to otherwise cast shade on. In some circles anyway. Just something to toss out.

And I mean...

Come the hug on. This is basic ass clipping you see in CGI projects all the time. Was a regular occurrence in both BW and Prime.

But everyone's so hyper eager to scream "AI!" that, well, here we are. And yes, it's ridiculous.

IF Hasbro uses generative AI for animation or, G-d forbid, to bring Cullen's voice back from the dead then yes. Pile on the much deserved scorn.

But all of this seems like a bunch of nonsense based on nothing but hysteria.

Even if I agreed with that interpretation, speculating about a possibility is not the same as an accusation of impropriety. Someone asking "What do you think the odds of Hasbro raising prices again?" isn't an accusation of hasbro raising prices again.

"AI" has become a boogieman to just trot out against something you either don't like or want to otherwise cast shade on. In some circles anyway. Just something to toss out.

And if someone here was actually doing that, then you would have had a point, but they're not. You basically came in here wagging your finger at people in th is thread, over something happening elsewhere on the internet, all because somebody had an extremly milktoast comment about AI.
