Thinking about Armada Megatron, gonna wait for final colors on Nemesis before deciding. None of the rest really grab me.

Armada Megatron's differences seem to be more than knees. Aside form the lack of the minicon gimmick, his proportions have been changed. And I think that these changes are for the best.

He has shorter shins (with tilting ankles) and longer quads that connect to a more stout/squat abs and chest. His horns are 2.2 times longer than his head as opposed to the original 3.2 times length. Corresponding to the horns his shoulder tank treads are also shorter.

I must admit though, I wish that they could have given him the little black knife.

No stabby dagger is definitely sad, but such is the bargaining for bendable knees. 20 years in the making.

The change in proportions is probably them trying to match how he looked in the cartoon.

I wonder if he's gonna bascially have Legacy prime's shoulders, seeing as how the fronts are on hinges.

Dang, I knew hoping that the Nemesis would have little bits to form exterior towers and stuff to resemble the sunken Victory as an equivalent to the Ark's Teletraan-1 was a leap.

Guess that leaves an opening for third party upgrade kits to do something, though.

3p will most assuredly do kits for her. There will be the usual gap fillers and such, with some extra rotating turrets thrown in for good measure. There will definitely be unnecessary parts that justify the cost of admission. Without a doubt, Reprolabels will create stickers for every panel, fold and screw hole. And it will cost half the price of the figure itself ;)

Pretty much all of yesterday's reveals didn't do a whole lot for me. But...I'm actually kinda ok with that at this stage of my collecting.

  • I love seeing how excited folks are for Armada Megs and Prime. It makes me happy that fans of other eras are finally getting the love that a G1 guy like me has got/is getting.
  • Beachcomber seems very underwhelming, bird or no bird. Will need to see comparisons to TR over the coming months
  • Dirge I'll pickup since I missed out on all the Coneheads
  • Devcon sure is a...thing.
  • Nemesis Leo Prime does look better than the original. Also glad folks seem happy about him.
  • Titan Nemesis seems much more appealing than the Ark ever was, but the class is just too big for me in general
  • Axelgrease I was initially disappointed in since she isn't colour matched to the other two, but if Hasbro comes up with another Decepticon retool in similar colours, I would find both pretty compelling!

My problem with the Nemesis is that her most famous alt mode will be how I would want to display her, but it really doesn't have the interactive/playset alt mode like the City bots or Omega Supreme have. I don't really care for the bot mode, so just like the ark, the alt mode looks neat, but I will pass on it.

That is cool! I love Easter-eggy things like that. I still haven't picked him up yet but he already looked like a fun and nicely-designed toy before the alternate transformation.

You mean where the pylons are fixed but the arm below it moves? Yeah, he's got that. It matches how the show would animated his arms, a notable instance of the animation not just drawing the toy designs 1:1.

I never had a problem with the original horns and shoulders, but I can see how someone might find those proportions a little goofy. Legacy looks like a good balance.

I wonder how the mold would look as Galvatron or Megazarak. And how likely either of those are to happen. Galvatron is an easy Selects slot, but Megazarak's probably less likely. Then again, they've been making some weird obscure choices lately....

Does Nemesis Leo Convoy Prime's (phew, that name is a mouth full) lion head look better then Leo's? It looks the same, is it just the darker paint or maybe the painted eyes that help a lot.

I think Devcon looks great, still in disbelief, a retail Devcon toy.

Axelgrease looks good, I like that they said they inverted Junkion colors, but that's just Squeezeplay's colors.

Kinda weird instead of saying The Nemesis (a ship) it's now Nemesis (a character), I kept waiting for them to say it was a tentative name but I guess she's Nemesis. I love the idea of have the Ark and Nemesis on my (already full) shelf and that she has a unique profile from the other Titans.

Megatron looks great, definitely would like to see him repainted into Megazarak.

I had to look up on tfwiki.net if Devcon was an existing character, rather than something invented for Legacy – the design looked too specific to be a pre-colour or original design. And there he is. Had no idea. But then we didn’t get more than the first season of the cartoon on broadcast television during the ‘80s, only on school holidays at the crack of dawn.
