I like the look of the mold, definitely, but I'll probably skip this first go-round and wait for the repaints. It looks good in these colors, but I have no attachment to Prime and a leader class is too expensive a mold to purchase TOO many times, and the inevitable G1 Skyquake and Machine Wars Starscream would both be must-buys.
Make Soundwave a repaint of Doubledealer and we’d even keep his minion compatibility!
If he didn't have a nose, I'd say he's perfect as is for King Atlas or MW Starscream. Since he has one i hope a super slavish head sculpt is in the waiting. Either way, this in MW Starscream colors could easily be one of my favorite figures of the past couple years.

Actually, didn’t Dreadwing precede Skyquake in the Prime toy line? In both scales?

It's probably because Skyquake was announced first. The decision to instead release Dreadwing first was made later.
I half suspect with Hasbro giving love to JG1 that we might not see 'G1 Skyquake' we might instead get 'JG1 Scrash'
You're not alone - I definitely thought we got them in that order too. Oh well.
Anyway, I like the looks though it's strange the head has so little paint detail. I'd dismiss it as an unfinished proto but everything else seems done. Meanwhile, I prefer this paint scheme to either Starscream (more black and gray) or even King Atlas. Truthfully, I wish this matched the original Skyquake paint scheme more (but I know it's the Prime version so...).
They can call it "Susan" if they want, so long as it's in those colors.
This will look good alongside the sparkless seeker from Siege (similar colours)

I've seen digibashes of all three, and they all work. They look good with giant shoulder pads.
Though, the GPS of the first one's deco does lessen its engagement.
