Transformers Legacy toyline

Thought so but man, they’re tiny. Smaller-looking than the previous effect parts though that may just be a shrunken image of them I guess.
They're the exact same ones that come with Omega Supreme, just in purple.

As is common with the Beast Era, the original toy's proportions are not as good as you remember. The changes are subtle, but they add up.
I mean, I own the original, so I remember it pretty good. I acknowledge the new guy is a step up, but we’re not talking original Cheetor vs Earthrise Cheetor. Compared to that glow-up, yeah, Magmatron is lateral.

I’m not trying to knock the new toy (I do like it), it’s just that I don’t think there’s as much room for improvement as there is with, say, the year-one BW toys, or any of the G1 toys.

Perhaps a better way to say it is: this new Magmatron is very evocative of the old toy, in a way that I’m not used to seeing with Generations updates. It’s neat. I like them both.

It just dawned on me. Despite his name, Big Convoy is actually supposed to be the exact same height as both Lio Convoy and Optimus Primal. If we do get a new updated Big Convoy figure at the correct height he is supposed to be at, then he won't really be as big as his name implies.

Big doesn't necessarily mean tall; Big Convoy is bulkier.

Yeah, my first reaction was "the new toy looks a bit better but not by much" then I went back and looked at some photos of the original and you're right - it's close, but there are a lot of little bits that add up.

That said, I'm still on the fence as whether the new one is (personally) worth getting. I tend to agree with Steevy that I wish they had experimented with changing some things up in the design a bit to try and improve it, but I understand that's always a risky move and may piss people off (just look at the reaction to Legacy RID Scourge). Might need to dig my original out of storage.

If i were in charge of making a new Magmatron, the only thing that'd be on the list to change for sure are the head wings. Dude thinks he's Dumbo.

I bought the original version of Magmatron back in the day, and it was okay. Kinda fun, kinda fiddly, but it eventually went into a storage bin, only to be sold off a few years later. I have no connection to it whatsoever, and am not interested in paying Commander prices for a new version. Glad for those that like it, but I think I'll keep my 90 dollars.
