Hopefully it was just user error, there haven't been many reviews out which is why I was wondering about it. I guess we'll see how widespread it really is shortly, hopefully the reports were just flukes. Edit: Looks like it's mostly been where the thin clear red parts of the gun peg into the feet for transformation, so may just be a tolerance issue. Edit to edit: The 'things getting more expensive' is happening faster than I expected, BBTS is upping the shipping to $6, which is minor, but I see the pebbles shifting. I may concentrate on just getting Onslaught, Swindle, and Shockwave, to finish Bruticus, and anything else will be a wait and see (I still can't figure out why Swindle's preorder is so late. Icons Optimus beat him to market and we hadn't even seen him before at the cons).

Having experienced the Tarantulas mold, I'm going to give the stock photographer a pass on this one. Worst transformation I've experienced since the T30 days.

I assume the Maximal one is the obvious stuff of Primal, Dinobot, Rattrap, Rhinox, Cheetor, Tigatron and Airrazor to match the Predacon seven. But they do have Silverbolt and Quickstrike molds now, I'm surprised they didn't include them in these lineups unless they considered them show-accurate enough already.

Quickstrike is still freshly on the pegs in stores. Give him time to get sold out first before getting his second use.

With all those moving parts, Rampage might need to be a Commander. They can throw in a "Rampage spark container" while they're at it.

I think he could be done at Leader. He'd lose the old toy's gimmicks, but going by Big Convoy, they were probably gone anyway.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

If they do actual transmetals: they need the vehicle mode. More to the point: if they could do it in '98, they can do it now.

And the only real gimmick rampage had other than the tank treads was the missile launcher and they don't do that now anyway.

The vehicle mode is mostly folding up the crab legs and flipping out the gun. The rubber treads would probably be plastic panels folded into the claws, though.

I think: Optimal Optimus as commander class, TM Megatron, Rampage, Depthcharge and Dinobot 2 as leader class, TM Rattrap, Cheetor and TM2 Blackarachnia as deluxes, TM Tarantulas and TM2 Cheetor as voyager would be to scale.
