I still think he should have just been a new version of this guy.

-ZacWilliam, Ok maybe simplified down to Multiforce 7 or something.

Either that or built out of little guys like Robolink:

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

Animated ratchet is the only other figure outside the primes I'm jonesing for. Do love the animated based figures... except that purple prime knockoff. The square head bothers me for reasons I cannot articulate.

Got my packages (only the stuff from BBTS to arrive.) and put in my pre-orders for nexus, maximo and ratchet.

Kind of expected to see Swindle in the mix, too. But he's Studio Series, so we'll probably have an update soon. Still, managed to preorder Powerglide and Liege Maximo.

Looking at the entire crop of preorders from today and realized: there's a lot of red and white deco afoot! All of the deluxes have some form of red/white going on and even at the Voyager level, Nexus Prime has red (among other colors). Liege Maximo is a welcome color change in this wave

So the only new image of Liege Maximo I've seen from the listings is straight on to the front of the box, with him inside. I'm only seeing that one show up at BBTS for some reason. Anyway, it confirms that his arms are not the same, and that left one definitely has a flip-out cannon.

BBTS also has several new images of Nexus, though they don't really show us much. No images of him combined with anyone.

The decision to leave the gimmick/selling point on Nexus's packaging is baffling,

If you weren't at least knee-deep in online TF fandom and you just saw it in the store, how interesting would it be?

Again-- I miss techspecs. Give us *something* on the box to sell this guy.

They've always been a bit hesitant to put gimmicks on the box that show too much interaction with a specific other figure. The thinking being that a parent might not want to buy this NEW figure if they don't already have the OLD figure at home.

Interestingly, this listing makes it sound like maybe he's only compatible with Silverbolt:

I *guess* that's fair, bit they played it up with Armorizers and other combiners.

Part of it IMO is the frame system, which has many many flaws (and cross-selling is absolutely one of them).

I think the difference was that the Armorizers can work with pretty much any other toy (whether or not Joe/Jane Parent would know that and not assume that it only works with whomever is shown on the packaging is up for debate, but that's the idea anyway).
