You may test that assumption at your convinience.

So I finally opened nexus prime.

And he's a good figure: great range of motion, no overt or obvious weak and breakable bits. Good colour scheme, Good detailing, and while the plane mode is a literal brick, there's no reason that an alien machine would follow aerodynamics. And considering what he was made to do, it's an obvious compromise.

But his styling is absolutely the MOST generic you could ask for. I called it ages ago when we first saw it. He is John Transformers. It works though. Fun figure, poses pretty well, and good balance.

I'm more interested in how they'll handle the frame. Previous combiners have had a Voyager-ish core robot packed in with the combiner stuff at the Commander price point. They've already released the robot who can't form an entire torso by itself, so how will they release the combiner frame?

Likely they'll do some gift pack, but honestly, I think they dropped the ball on Nexus Prime, they could of gotten away with a couple of Minicons uniting around a Scout class figure, I mean, he meant to be the first combiner, so they could of done a Duocon style combiner, why stick to the idea presented in a comic run that only a few have read?

It's wild that they didn't release it with a frame, because now they almost can't release it as a commander with the bot & frame, then all the early adopters are SOL. I could see them doing a "limbs plus frame" pack, possibly? But that might be around titan price point....

I guess they could make a Nexus+frame pack with different color distribution, clear plastic and or/heads. If we're still getting 2 commander releases next subline, they could release Defensor alongside it to finish the S2 combiners then release Computron vs Abominus in the succeeding rebrand.

Ideally they'd release Onslaught retooled into Heatwave and then you can either have heatwave or nexus prime in the frame to represent the Funpub or Covenant versions.

not happening though.

I just hope they eventually do the Aerialbot Thundercracker. Because that Superion frame has the same connectors as Bruticus's arms, meaning I would be two wing symbol stickers away from my Combaticon Thundercracker concept, even if it won't match up well. Even if I add Viper, that team lacks a real fighter jet and I prefer Blast Off as a shuttle.

(I readily admit to being one of those people who will totally ignore faction symbols, established fiction, and anything written on the box and just do whatever I feel like no matter how dumb it will probably look. It'll be the opposite of how Double Pretender Megatron wound up hanging out permanently with my Fortress Maximus).

Since Nexus is already out and his limbs are being released individually, my ideal solution at this point would be a Heatwave, probably at Leader class, who could transform into Nexus's frame. No idea if that would be in any way feasible, but it's what I would love to see happen.

For my CW combiners, I stick with all the original team members for the G1 combiners. I give Alpha Bravo, Offroad, Rook, and CW Blast Off to Galvatronus, since his whole thing is being able to force bots from either faction to merge with him. Given Alpha Bravo, I choose to call this Blast Off Charlie, short for Charlie Charlie.

I'm intrigued by the idea of a new mold Heatwave, because that could be redecoed into an Energon Barricade and we could get or make a Bruticus Maximus.

Based on what's been said by Jtprime17. Breakaway and Sky Guard (Skyfall) are the first Nexus limbs.

They are in the bonus AotP wave early next year. Supposedly retools of Air Raid and Blast Off.

Collapse in wave 1 of Age of Evolution is believed to be limb 3 and a new mold.

No info on limb 4 or a frame.

We should see Breakaway and Sky Guard soon as nune (another reliable leaker) has said yesterday that the bonus wave deluxes are going up for preorder soon)

What Hasbro should do is start releasing G2 Aerialbots next year.
G2 Silverbolt has colors similar enough to Nexus that they can be tweaked to do double-duty, as both a G2 Superion and Nexus Maximus.
