Really? It's usually the other way around for me.
For me as well. That's what I found a bit surprising.
That's very odd. It certainly isn't the way it goes for me, as I generally will "fall back" to BBTS if when Pulse sells out. And to BBTS's credit, I actively choose them over Amazon, knowing that I will lose money on shipping. Amazon lost my Transformers-related business long ago, thanks to their inability to properly package items.
The only thing that's sold out on Pulse right now is Powerglide.

The whole idea of preorders being sold out is still weird to me.
The alternative is to continue taking more orders than they can fill and pissing off all of those extra customers.
Exactly, I'm pretty sure stuff is already at some point of the distribution chain when it enters preorder. They can't just "make more", because of the honestly insane logistics involved in moving the toys from one end of the world to the other at a reasonable expense. Once another shipment of a reasonable volume is ready, they can open preorders again.
Or at least, their power chip rectifiers must be.

Got a preorder for Smokescreen, Powerglide and Liege. May get Ratchet later on but don’t like him enough to preorder.

Sort of dumb question, but the teased 'Unicron Soldier" leader seems logically to be a Leige Maximo recolor/retool just due to the way the horns are, but supposedly each Prime isn't getting a remold? I wasn't sure if that was true or just fan-rumor, as I am not in the best shape budget wise and I'm thinking I'd rather have it in orange than green, if that's a possible option later.
If that ever was a rule, it was a self imposed rule that didn't actually matter. It may have been a point of pride to say these Primes are special and will never get repaints/remolds but the executives really don't care about that sort of thing.

In one of the livestreams, Evan clarified that the molds for the Thirteen are not off the table for mold reuse for other characters. It's just that none of the leaks up until the Unicron Soldier have had any indications that those molds would be used for other characters. This led fans to speculate and assume that those molds would only be used for the Thirteen, when Hasbro never said that those molds would never see reuse. There just weren't any immediate plans to reuse them for other characters, likely to make those molds seem more special at first, giving them time to stand out first before their eventual reuses later on.
I'm hoping for Comic Con I will get to see what that Unicron Soldier might actually be, and also that Swindle will pop up for order. Beyond that, no actual plans unless they totally surprise me and put up Monstructor orders.
I heard that there was some shuffling involved in AotP's figure lineup and Unicron Soldier was a late addition.
"None of the Thirteen moulds are planned to be reused" may have been a self-imposed rule early on, but they may have tossed that out the window when they needed a late Leader addition.
The idea that the Thirteen can't share molds seems odd considering Vector Prime was a remold of Jhiaxus.
In the newest livestream, one of the Hasbro team had to be reminded about the forthcoming Vector Prime figure, thinking Liege Maximo and Nexus were the last of the Thirteen in this line. However, when that reminder was mentioned, they were all also being very coy about that Vector Prime, as though they didn't want to say if it's a rerelease of the Legacy one retooled from Jhiaxus or an all-new Vector Prime like how AOTP Alpha Trion turned out to be a new figure instead of a rerelease of the Legacy one retooled from SS86 Scourge.
