And for the latest stupidity, Trump is countersuing Jean Carroll for slander.

Cue usual comments about lack of shame, et al.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

Apparently it's ALREADY been paid... just not to mrs. carol. Trumps lawyers dumped a 5.5 mil lump on the judge because they couldn't secure a bond which was required for them to appeal the ruling.

I believe there's a tax purpose to that. He can claim that as a loss on taxes and offset his tax liability while still not paying her.

These are the people who keep saying "staaaahp calling us stupid!"

And they all vote.

Not sure what's going on with Trump Jr. He was set to do a speaking tour of Australia, but that's been delayed and/or possibly cancelled
They're blaming the visa turning up late, but from the article, he only applied for it two weeks ago, which is about right for the usual turnaround on visas. Trump Jr himself is blaming the usual Republican fictional bugbear, cancel culture. There was a petition to deny him a visa, but it's not like they didn't sell loads of tickets for the event.

I feel like Don Jr is someone who can't get cancelled. A small fraction of Trump's fans like him and will never not like him because he is Trump's son. The rest of everyone never liked him and aren't starting. He is a very cheap knockoff of Trump. The only market for that is people who like Trump but can't afford the real thing. If he ever said anything more important than "My Dad could beat your dad up!", I missed it. I don't think he is capable of doing anything to gain popularity outside his dad's fan base and for all his stupidity, he isn't dumb enough to do anything to betray the Donald.

I could see Junior becoming another congressional douchebag like Matt Gaetz for some heavily gerrymandered district, but I doubt he'd ever get much further than that. He doesn't have his dad's mojo. None of the Trump kids do.

Trump doesn't have mojo either. If he wasn't already "rich" from his years of theft and his father: he'd be another used car salesman and the picture used to define "slimy" in the dictionary.

The only thing he had going for him was the american concept of "rich people are our betters". And he didn't even exploit it well, he just got ******* lucky.

That, and the political momentum from years of being one of Obama's outspoken critics. Everyone else in the Republican primary that year was a nobody to 90% of the country. Trump stepping into the ring was tantamount to having a Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert ticket on the ballot in 2008 (remember when people were trying to make that happen?)

I don't know how old you guys are, but Trump spent the 80s building his mystique as some brilliant, rakish real estate tycoon. Elon Musk and his simps may think he's the real life Tony Stark, but Donald Trump did it before him.

His star dimmed a bit after his tabloid-fodder lifestyle lost a lot of its appeal, but then he rebuilt it with The Apprentice and we all know how much stupid people love reality shows.

Don Jr has none of that.

I'm still a bit surprised they didn't try to build out the family brand by having Uday or Qusay run for Congress somewhere with a shoo-in GOP seat in 2018.

Then again, that probably would have required a lot more work than just riding daddy's social media coattails.

You know how Trump usually has meltdowns on Truth Social before he's indicted for jive? Well, he just had a meltdown over the Insurrection Act. Meaning, chances are, he's about to be indicted for insurrection.

Fun fact: If you're charged with insurrection - not convicted, just charged - you are legally barred from holding public office for the rest of your life.

Here's even more beauty for the comment: trumps closest primary rival is polling at less than half of his current popularity. They couldn't legitimately win an election with trump, and none of the cult will vote for anyone else.
