Not gonna lie: at this point I believe the GOP will handily win the midterms, because they'll post ICE goons near all the polling stations and minority voters will be afraid to vote because they'll be summarily "detained" on the spot and taken away for isolation and abuse on suspicion of voter fraud, even if they're 100% legitimate voters.

Remember, ICE has already set the precedent that they can lock you up on suspicion alone, with zero evidence. And not one of their agents has ever gotten in trouble for doing so.

This means that the midterm elections will be mostly up to white voters, and the statistics for white voters in the last election are not encouraging.

That plan won't work: if trump rolled out every ice agent, national guardsman and military regular: there aren't enough soldiers to make a meaningful showing at every voting location. Even if you pare it back to JUST ice terrorists, and JUST minority opportunity districts: you still don't have enough man power to make a meaningful threat at every voting location.


Being scared in advance is still obeying in advance.

Edit: as a reminder; the piss poor white person turn out was on the hands of the independents: whom are now economically self motivated to end trumps power.

But it's counting on conditions that no longer exist. More people are engaged and aligned against trump than in the last election. Like the gerrymandering in texas: it was counting on latino votes which no longer exist. Facebook friend might have described the optimal outcome for trump: but trump and his regime are also RIDICULOUSLY incompetent.

So sure, he might be able to intimidate minority opportunity districts into not voting... but he's ignoring all the white people voting against him while he does that. Because he's being lied to about who actually likes him and in what volume.

This whole Portland occupation thing is a huge crisis for your democracy, even if it doesn't seem like it. If Trump can just lie and say that there's a state of war in a city where this is objectively not true, and then use that as justification for an armed occupation, then he can suspend anyone's civil rights anywhere, by simply lying about that person or place. It gives him almost unlimited power to use the military against anyone, anywhere in the country.

Not even gun owners generally; specifically people belonging to gun rights organizations traditionally affiliated with Republicans. I'd wager that most left-wing gun owners aren't going to be on the list.

As a citizen of a country with a mandatory gun registry: when the information isn't biased and abused, they work perfectly well. But I also know that trump abuses everything.

So, the crypto market lost 20 billion yesterday. How about that.
