looks like Texas is illegally detaining at least one of the dems because they are refusing to be escorted by the DPS to make sure the dems dont run again.
But they got promises from a few other states to counteract it.

I hope the drumbeat of this stuff is eventually enough to rouse the Republican old guard.

Well, Trump has now indicated that he's going after other Blue Cities now, and he's not going to stop with the National Guard and plans to send the military in addition. So pretty soon no-one will have to worry about voting ever again.

Blue states will do what they can to keep their national guard from being deployed. Some will be successful. All this could have been avoided if the Republicans in the Senate had a moral compass and had convicted Trump back in 2021 or 2019. Thankfully, ICE is having some issues with employee turnover and the military likely will as well if Trump continues to try and use them as law enforcement.
