I can't believe that.

Even if I granted that many actors DID see the role as toxic, there would STILL a line of British actors knocking at the door to play this iconic role.

Its what been said online, no one wants to play the character currently and the show ratings have been in the toilet the last couple of seasons, so why would anyone want to get onboard of a show that is clearly a sinking ship and could well kill their career if they take it on?

I've not read anything about any actors avoiding Doctor Who and I've never heard about it being 'toxic'. The only toxicity I've encountered was via right-wing trolls and grifters online.

For the record this all started due to an article from The Sun. Which is about the farthest thing from a reputable source about something that you can get. They are clickbait in tabloid form.

I promise you if the BBC posted up in downtown London with a sign that said "auditions for the Doctor" you'd have a line stretching to Cornwall.
