Rummage sale season started early this year. A church that canceled last October's sale bumped this spring's sale up to today and one of the regular customers told me about another sale I was never aware of before, in two weeks. Didn't find anything besides a wireless iPad keyboard (not as comfortable to type on as the Mac one I posted about earlier in this thread, or indeed any keyboard I've ever used, but it has a mount slot and actually worked for more than a few minutes before dying forever) and some LED bulbs, but it was something to get out of the house for.

Also, I stopped at the Exchange on the way home and learned in the best possible way that I was wrong about DuckTales never getting a full series DVD release: They had volumes 2 and 3 (the latter comprising all of seasons 3 and 4) for only $10 each! The reason I was wrong is that it took them until 2018 to finally release the last volume; of course I had long since checked out by then. It was also a Disney Movie Club exclusive, which gives me hope that I might actually see other Disney Movie Club exclusives there someday, like the Goofy Movie Blu-Ray.

The baking continues!

Slow cooker chocolate lava cake.

Edit: It is the greatest desert in the world? Nope. Was it easy to make, and did not occupy the oven, and is frankly very tasty? Yup. The fact that I was able to scrounge it together using scraping from the pantry is also a plus. If you're got a slow cooker and 5 hours to fritter away waiting: Do it. Wonderful and easy.

I'm interested in slow cookers. My crazy grandma tells me I should get one, but she bought hers so long ago that she can't give me a recommendation on a brand.

And I'm a little nervous. My mother had one and she managed to dry out meat every time, somehow. I don't know how she did that, so I don't know what not to do.

So the thing not to do is freeball it, at least until you understand it. Find a recipe, and follow it. Though I would say if the meat was too dry: it needs more sauce in it, or you need to stop opening it while it's cooking. Keep the moisture inside.

As for brands: crockpot is the literal standard. But any will do for experimentation. So get the cheap one from walmart if you're only getting it to try.

Completed the lego model I've been building on and off all week, Lego One Piece's biggest kit the Baratie, not to bad a build, thou I felt a good chunk of the base was made up of a lot of wasteful parts to justify the cost, thou as I neared the end, I found I was missing two pieces, very minor ones and they aren't in the bags, I checked, one I might have a spare in with my spare parts, the other, it be a case of ordering when I do a pick a brick order again in the near future as I got a idea for something but I'm not ready yet, of course, I need to chase up the last pick a brick order I did back in November, its just seemed to be sat in their warehouse!

9 hours, I tend to sleep less than 8 hours most of the time, so I try for about a min of 7 and have the ocasonal nap to boost me a bit

Just cleared all the hard modes in the fractals(think dungeons) in Guild Wars 2. I had done 3 of them before, but hadn't touched the last three before tonight. Even got the no-death achievement on 98(Sunqua Peak)!

Making chocolate muffins. The last batch of chocolate chip muffins were a smash hit, so I figured to reverse the colours and try again. Smells good, and I love working with cocoa powder.

The wife made some home made cupcakes last night. :) Also, I finally backed up 5 years of pictures and videos to my computer so I finally updated my iphone to ios26. I was ten versions behind!

So two of the muffins were in the wrong sized tray to bake, (cause the recipe made 14 instead of 12.) and one of them, consequently, burst. It's still got the shape, but there was a large blob of itself off to one side.

So... tasties.

And this recipe is a keeper: I already know I will be making it again.

Getting home from work without getting to wet, cycled straight into the rain this evening as its been blowing a gale all day, put it this way, one of the watering cans in the back garden, decided to go for a walk with maybe a hop, and skip and definely a jump as it went from near the back door onto the back lawn, jumping over a plant pot and the small wall surounding the lawn

Bought a new antenna for my computer. Picked up 10% more throughput. Not all antennas are created equal folks.

Yup. I was running on a pair of mismatched sticks since the original wired one was eaten by the cats. Finally got tired of the lag spikes and slow images, so I splurged, and put the improvised solution away for when I need parts again.
