Shower idea I had this morning: AotP Aerialbots as GoBots.

Not sure who to make Silverbolt into. Might just be the Power Suit Spaceship.
Air Raid => Leader-1
Slingshot => Royal-T
Skydive => Heat Seeker
Fireflight => Mach-3

And then, of course, Superion => Courageous, as much as the colors of the other members allow.

I have never tried digibashing before, so if someone wants to try their hand at this, please feel free. (No pressure, of course.) And, if you can think of better characters to map the figures to, I'd love to see what you come up with.

I love this idea! The frame system would emulate the mechanism of the original Power Suits quite servicably.
I think if you want the end result to be Courageous, then Silverbolt would necessarily have to be the Power Jet. I almost feel like they could reference The Last Engineer in the base robot mode, but I would probably prioritize the look of the Courageous form over anything else.

And, of course, I would advocate for the v2 Blue Leader-1 deco because that is the Most Awesome* version of Leader-1 ever.

*Most Awesome here means "the one I had as a kid", though it is also a totally objective qualification!

And in the cartoon, the Power Jet itself was treated as being Courageous proper, so Silverbolt would be Courageous in both vehicle and combined robot form.

While we're on the tangent, instead of the "Grungy" Renegade redeco, it would be neat if Hasbro could somehow finagle the unproduced Nemesis Power Warrior from Bruticus. Blast Off could be Fitor, Swindle for Geeper Creeper, probably Tank from Brawl, and I guess Coptor from Vortex. (Or maybe Night Fright, I suppose?) Onslaught would be an interesting combination of yellow and black with lime accents, but it would be visually distinct from the other Combiners.

Scroll to the bottom to see what I mean:

What do you think, sirs?

The 15th anniversary Decepticon pack isn't too bad yet a missed opportunity to do a pristine Megatron, blue soundwave and burning fallen calling back to the latter two's Toys R Us and Target exclusives.
I also wonder if we'll see a 86 40th anniversary set this year with some removal of the transparent plastics for opaque.

Now I'm starting to wonder if the comics ever had any good coloring errors like these.

Plenty, I'm sure. I'm reminded of that one Headmasters cover with an interestingly red and gray Fort Max. And the "Man of Iron" colors on Megs is in this thread too.

Could do a whole trilogy of lines for just Block Colored characters maybe.

But there are enough legit variations (Hot Rod, Soundwave) to make for a pretty neat capsule too.

Not technically an error, but the Cybertronian Imperials in G2 #1 weren't depicted in the later-standard green/teal and white/cream/silver. (The actual shades/hues of their unified colorscheme varied a bit, too. I assume different colorists coupled with some variation in the printing process. Time/degradation, reprints, and scanning variations don't help, either.)

I never thought the Man of Iron on the cover was *supposed* to be Megatron or even any actual character. I ways considered it metaphorical-- lots of covers depict events that don't actually take place in the issue.

That being said-- I bet the coloring in some of the originally-black-and-white UK stories in collections/reprints was occasionally off or inconsistent. (IIRC at least one story was colored twice/separately, but I'm much too lazy to investigate now.)

To be clear, I never assumed that either (tbh I never even put the two together despite the obvious elements of Megs' design, so I guess I was exactly the target audience) and didn't intend to suggest that.
