The tommy tuberville residency case has now been brought to the Alabama Supreme Court.

"We are confident that, if given a fair opportunity to present that evidence in court, we could easily establish that tubberville is lying about where he lives and is ineligible to serve as governor." - Attorney Barry Ragsdale.

We will see if they do the right thing, and look at the over-whelming evidence that shows he lived, and continues to live, in his Florida mansion, not a 1 bathroom starter home in Auburn that he wasn't even on the deed of until 2024.

I don't suppose this would also make him ineligible to serve in his current role as a senator, as well, would it? Because I'm sure he'll gladly just hold onto that job as long as he can as a consolation prize.

Well, the requirements for senator are a lot more lax. You only have to live in Alabama for a single day, where as the governor requires you to have lived here for the last seven years.

However, he has given up that spot as the republicans, after a run off election, have nominated house member Barry Moore to take his senator spot come the end of tubbervile's term in January. That is if he can beat the Democratic candidate, which might be a challenge with all the support that Doug Jones is getting for the democratic candidate for governor.

Oh, so this is one of those situations where he's not even quitting to run for another office because his term is already going to be up that same year. But if he botches this badly enough, we could see his seat in the Senate, the governorship, and Barry Moore's seat in the House getting taken by Democrats next January.

I mean, it's not likely; this is still Alabama. But it's possible.

It is possible. It would take all three of your wishes to do it, but it could happen.

Like the last time we elected Doug Jones as a senator, it was only because of all the Church ladies couldn't stand voting for Roy Moore after all the allegations of stalking Under-age girls and it was a special election.

The Alabama Supreme court has agreed to expedite the appeal concerning the tubbervile residency case. I should point out that there is an august 19th deadline for parties to have their candidate. If tubervile is found to be a Florida resident as all the evidence shows, then the republicans will have no one running against Doug Jones this November for the Governor's seat.

I'd say McFeeters has a solid chance of becoming the first American in history to win a gubernatorial election by write-in, since he's still a Republican running in Alabama and all, but I get the impression that Tubbervile is considered enough of a "hometown hero" by the people whose hometown he is not from that they might just stay home in protest instead.

I think that Doug Jones has enough support to beat any write in vote, especially on a midterm election. That being said, I would not be opposed to McFeeters being the republican candidate.

I am just hoping that the Alabama supreme court does the right thing and upholds the constitution.

Some bright news, a Florida House representative has failed to turn in her paperwork in time, and thus the democrat will be running unopposed. So that is one house seat we will get back at least.
